Advancements in brain imaging techniques have emerged as a significant tool in detecting Alzheimer's disease (AD) progression. The complicated cascade of AD progression can be detected using radio imaging, especially with Positron emission tomography (PET). The review focus on recently introduced investigational PET tracers targeting neurofibrillary tau aggregates found typically in AD. Herein, we also address the use of different PET tracers and the clinical implementation of established and newer generation tracers. This review also intends to discuss the importance of several PET radiotracers and challenges in PET imaging.

Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the clinical utility of 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose PET and computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) in detecting recurrence and metastasis in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) who exhibit elevated levels of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA following treatment.

Methods: A total of 103 patients with NPC were studied retrospectively. All patients were in remission following initial treatment.

Purpose: In addition to rodent models, the chick embryo model has gained attention for radiotracer evaluation. Previous studies have investigated tumours on the chorioallantoic membrane (CAM), but its value for radiotracer imaging of intracerebral tumours has yet to be demonstrated.

Procedures: Human U87 glioblastoma cells and U87-IDH1 mutant glioma cells were implanted into the brains of chick embryos at developmental day 5.

Objectives: To assess the prognostic value of Fluorine 18-labeled fluorodeoxyglucose [F]FDG, gallium 68-labeled fibroblast-activation protein inhibitor-04 [Ga]Ga-FAPI-04, C-acetate in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and evaluate the potential usefulness and advantages of different combinations for accurate diagnosis.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six patients with suspected hepatic masses were prospectively enrolled from May 2021 to September 2022 and underwent [F]FDG, [Ga]Ga-FAPI-04, and C-acetate PET/CT scans before surgery. PET/CT results and histopathologic examinations were independently interpreted by two radiologists and pathologists, respectively.

Background: Beyond the use of conventional short-lived PET radionuclides, there is a growing interest in tracking larger biomolecules and exploring radiotheranostic applications. One promising option for imaging medium-sized molecules and peptides is ⁵⁵Co (T₁/₂ = 17.5 h, β⁺ = 76%), which enables imaging of new and already established tracers with blood circulation of several hours.

Purpose Of The Report: Adults with Down Syndrome (DS) have a substantially increased risk for Alzheimer's disease (AD) due to the triplicated amyloid-precursor-protein gene on chromosome 21, resulting in amyloid and tau accumulation. However, tau PET assessments are not sufficiently implemented in DS-AD research or clinical work-up, and second-generation tau tracers such as [F]PI-2620 have not been thoroughly characterized in adults with DS. We aim at illustrating feasibility and potential diagnostic value of tau PET imaging with [F]PI-2620 for the diagnosis of DS-AD.
