Background: Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) exhibits inhibitory effects on the neuromuscular junction, and its use is well established in cosmetic dermatology. Our review aims to analyze the evidence for its use in the treatment of various dermatological, neurological, gastroenterological, ophthalmological, otorhinolaryngological, dental, urological, gynecological, and cardiovascular disorders.
Methods: A systematic review of the literature was performed for studies published between 2012 and 2022 that discussed the therapeutic use of BoNT in human participants.

Excessive gingival exposure (gummy smile) is a non-aesthetic condition characterized by excessive exposure of the gingiva during smiling. The most common cause of gummy smiles was reported to be the hyperfunction of the muscles of the upper lip. Previous reports showed that botulinum toxin (Botox) is effective in the treatment of gummy smiles with a reversible effect, rapid initial action, safe application, low risk, and satisfactory outcome.

Background: Many dental restorative materials are used in dental clinics, while in a new practice, many countries are trying to ban dental amalgam for many reasons. Dental mercury is the main issue for suspending the use of dental amalgam. Another restoration method, the composite restoration for posterior and anterior teeth for esthetic porous, became the alternative to amalgam.
