The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the ability to receive health care services. Field-based health services became a logistically feasible alternative to medical center-based care. We compared two different field-based approaches to the delivery of SARS-CoV-2 testing and health education services for Latine communities using a quasi-experimental design that included propensity score matching to accommodate the challenges posed to research by the pandemic.

Mass vaccination represents a highly effective strategy for accelerating disease control while simultaneously reducing incidence and mortality rates. By developing comprehensive plans and standards for mass vaccination, it is feasible to optimize resource allocation and swiftly enhance vaccination coverage, thereby preventing, controlling, or interrupting outbreaks or epidemics of specific infectious diseases. To standardize the mass vaccination process and establish a population immunity barrier in an orderly, efficient, and safe manner, a panel of experts was convened to develop the Recommendations on Mass Vaccination.

This trend was further emphasized during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in case-control study-like results.
Methods And Results: A subanalysis was conducted on 239 patients from a Japanese multicenter cohort study (HINODE), encompassing 32 months before and 6 months after pandemic onset.

The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the necessity for rapid and adaptable drug screening platforms against live pathogenic viruses that require high levels of biosafety containment. Conventional antiviral testing is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Here, we outline the design and validation of a semi-automated drug-screening platform for SARS-CoV-2 that utilizes multiple liquid handlers, a stable A549 cell line expressing ACE2 and TMPRSS2 receptors, and a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 strain harboring the nano-luciferase gene.
