The tomography of photonic quantum states is key in quantum optics, impacting quantum sensing, computing, and communication. Conventional detectors are limited in their temporal and spatial resolution, hampering high-rate quantum communication and local addressing of photonic circuits. Here, we propose to utilize free electron-photon interactions for quantum state tomography, introducing electron homodyne detection with potential for femtosecond-temporal and nanometer-spatial resolutions.

The unique characteristics of metasurfaces to precisely control the amplitude, phase, and polarization of light within a thin, flat footprint make them a promising replacement for bulky optical components. However, fabrication methods of conventional metasurfaces have suffered from low throughput and high costs, limiting scalability and practical application. To address these challenges, an advanced fabrication technique is developed by combining deep-ultraviolet argon fluoride photolithography with wafer-scale nanotransfer printing to facilitate the scalable fabrication of metal-insulator-metal structures.

During the process of developing smart chiroptical luminophores, small chiral organic dyes have emerged as candidates of utmost importance. In this regard, the chiral variants of boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) serve as suitable molecules owing to their excellent photophysical properties such as high fluorescence quantum yields, narrow emission bandwidths with high peak intensities, high photo and chemical stability, and higher molar extinction coefficients. Thus, the last decade observed an influx of research from various research groups for the induction of chirality in originally achiral BODIPY.

Aging is a complex and universal process marked by gradual functional declines at the cellular and tissue levels, often leading to a range of aging-related diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Delaying the aging process can help prevent, slow down, and alleviate the severity of these various conditions, enhancing overall health and well-being. Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (AGIs) are a class of widely used antidiabetic drugs that inhibit alpha-glucosidase in the small intestinal mucosa, delaying carbohydrate absorption and reducing postprandial hyperglycemia.

Background: Emerging evidence links Alzheimer's disease (AD) to dysfunction of the primary cilium, a historically overlooked organelle that serves as the neuron's antenna. All neurons harbor a single primary cilium that projects from the membrane to sense changes in the extracellular environment. Primary cilia dysfunction leads to a group of diseases called 'ciliopathies', which are associated with reduced hippocampal and cortical mass, as well as neurocognitive impairment.
