A novel graphene-based phosphorus/silicon-containing flame retardant (GO-DOPO-V) was obtained via one-step reduction of graphene oxide (GO) with phosphorus/silicon-containing compound (DOPO-V). The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS), Atomic force microscope (AFM) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) measurements were used to confirm the structure and morphology. After incorporation of 2 wt% GO-DOPO-V, the maximum decreases of 28.8% in peak heat release rate and 15.6% in total heat release are achieved compared to that of pure epoxy resin (EP). Furthermore, TGA and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurement showed that GO-DOPO-V significantly enhanced the thermal stability and residual char strength of EP. Thus, attributed to the barrier effect of GO and phosphorus/silicon layer formation by DOPO-V, GO-DOPO-V was a high-efficient flame retardant to improve the combustion behavior of EP nanocomposite.

The improper handling and uncontrolled discharge of toxic organic dyes result in significant adverse effects on both human health and the environment. This study investigates the fabrication of SnO₂, yttrium and cobalt dual-doped SnO₂ (YCSn), chitosan-capped SnO₂ (CS*Sn), and chitosan-capped yttrium and cobalt dual-doped SnO₂ (CS*YCSn) nanoparticles using a one-step coprecipitation method for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. Characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry confirm the successful synthesis of biodegradable CS*YCSn nanoparticles.

The detection of ammonia (NH)gas holds significant importance in both daily life and industrial production. In this study, the NbCT/MoSe sensor was synthesized using a one-step hydrothermal method and applied for NH detection. The morphology and elemental composition of the composites were analyzed through a series of characterization techniques including XRD, TEM, SEM, and XPS, confirming the successful synthesis of NbCT/MoSe composite with the optimal mass ratio.

The high entropy alloy (HEA) possesses distinctive thermal stability and electronic characteristics, which exhibits substantial potential for diverse applications in electrocatalytic reactions. However, accurately controlling the size of HEA still remains a challenge, especially for the ultrasmall HEA nanoparticles. Herein, we firstly calculate and illustrate the size impact on the electronic structure of HEA and the adsorption energies of crucial intermediates in typical electrocatalytic reactions, such as the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), CO2 electroreduction (CO2RR) and NO3- electroreduction (NO3RR).

The pipeline for new drugs against multidrug-resistant remains limited, highlighting the urgent need for innovative treatments. New strategies, such as membrane-targeting molecules acting as adjuvants, aim to enhance antibiotic effectiveness and combat resistance. RW01, a cyclic peptide with low antimicrobial activity, was selected as an adjuvant to enhance drug efficacy through membrane permeabilization.

Different morphologies of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), including bulk g C- 3N4 (B-CN), ultrathin nanosheet g-C3N4(N CN), and porous g-C- 3N4 (P-CN) were synthesized through a facile one-step approach. They were then employed as efficient photocatalysts under visible light to degrade methylene blue (MB) and deactivate Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Escherichia coli (E.
