ConspectusIons are the crucial signaling components for living organisms. In cells, their transportation across pore-forming membrane proteins is vital for regulating physiological functions, such as generating ionic current signals in response to target molecule recognition. This ion transport is affected by confined interactions and local environments within the protein pore.

Background/purpose: Bone reconstruction in the maxillofacial region typically relies on autologous bone grafting, which presents challenges, including donor site complications and graft limitations. Recent advances in tissue engineering have identified highly pure and proliferative dedifferentiated fat cells (DFATs) as promising alternatives. Herein, we explored the capacity for osteoblast differentiation and the osteoinductive characteristics of extracellular vesicles derived from DFATs (DFAT-EVs).

Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of ginseng non-edible callus-derived extracellular vesicle (GNEV) on skin regeneration, particularly focusing on its impact on proliferation and migration in human dermal fibroblast (HDF).
Methods: GNEV was isolated from ginseng non-edible callus using sequential filtration and size exclusion chromatography (SEC). The extracellular vesicle was characterized using nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA).

Background: Development of effective guideline for delirium management is still seeking nowadays. As nurses are in the first confrontation line for delirium, their prospective in identifying barriers are essential in developing integrated strategies and clinical guidelines.
Objective: To explore the barriers focusing on intensive care unit (ICU) nurses' point of views to provide an evidence-based support for effective nurse-led delirium management in ICU settings.

Background: Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) commonly leads to heart failure but has traditionally been an exclusion criterion in randomized clinical trials (RCTs) of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i); therefore, the effects of these drugs in this population remain undocumented. In light of recent studies, this meta-analysis aimed to investigate the effect of SGLT2i on the prognosis of patients with ATTR-CM.
Methods: A comprehensive search of Medline, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library was conducted up to November 17, 2024.
