Objectives: This study aimed to determine the frequency of RUNX1/RUNX1T1 gene rearrangement in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and analyze their clinical, hematological, and morphological features of positive patients.

Patients And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in which newly diagnosed patients with AML were included in the study. A total of 101 AML cases were calculated from the World Health Organization (WHO) formula.

Article Synopsis
  • Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder causing motor and cognitive issues, and current treatments mainly address symptoms.
  • This study explored the combination of Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) with a virtual reality platform called Computer-Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) to enhance rehabilitation for PD patients.
  • Results showed significant cognitive improvements in the experimental group using NMT and CAREN, indicating this method could be a more effective way to address cognitive deficits in PD compared to traditional approaches.

Flow cytometry in acute myeloid leukemia and detection of minimal residual disease.

Clin Chim Acta

January 2025

Department of Laboratory Medicine, School of Medicine, Foshan University, Foshan, Guangdong 528000, China; Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Construction and Detection in Tissue Engineering, Department of Anatomy, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou 510515, China. Electronic address:

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a common type of acute leukemia (AL), belonging to malignant tumors of the hematopoietic system with the characteristics of rapid disease development, control with extreme difficulties, easy recurrence, poor prognosis, and incidence rate increasing with age. The traditionally diagnostic standard of French American British (FAB), being based on the morphological examination with high human subjectivity, can no longer meet the demand of clinical diagnosis and treatment of AML. Requirements of objective accuracy and low-dose sample, have become the indispensable method for AML diagnosis and monitoring prognosis.

Candidatus Midichloria mitochondrii can be vertically transmitted in Hyalomma anatolicum.

Exp Parasitol

October 2024

College of Veterinary Medicine, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 830052, China. Electronic address:

In this study, a tick intracellular symbiont, Candidatus Midichloria mitochondrii, was detected in Hyalomma anatolicum from Xinjiang, China. Morphological identification and cytochrome oxidase subunit I sequence alignment were used for molecular identification of the tick species. PCR detection further revealed the presence of endosymbiont C.

We review the importance of monocytic differentiation and differentiation induction in non-APL (acute promyelocytic leukemia) variants of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a malignancy characterized by proliferation of immature myeloid cells. Even though the cellular differentiation block is a fundamental characteristic, the AML cells can show limited signs of differentiation. According to the French-American-British (FAB-M4/M5 subset) and the World Health Organization (WHO) 2016 classifications, monocytic differentiation is characterized by morphological signs and the expression of specific molecular markers involved in cellular communication and adhesion.
