Objectives: To investigate how studies determine the sample size when developing radiomics prediction models for binary outcomes, and whether the sample size meets the estimates obtained by using established criteria.
Methods: We identified radiomics studies that were published from 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 in seven leading peer-reviewed radiological journals. We reviewed the sample size justification methods, and actual sample size used.

Background: Co-morbid Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology is a major risk factor for cognitive impairment (CI) in PD, but whether and how AD co-pathology affects the clinical phenotype of PD-CI is incompletely understood. Recently validated plasma biomarkers for AD pathology, such as ptau217, hold great promise to revolutionize the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we used plasma ptau217 to detect AD co-pathology in a well-characterized cohort of PD patients with CI and examine its associations with APOE4 genotype, cognitive profile, and cerebral hypometabolism on FDG-PET.

Background: People living with dementia (PwD) experience progressive functional decline with increasing dependence on their caregivers. Advanced care planning (ACP) has the potential to promote quality of life, reduce iatrogenic harm, and minimize overutilization of healthcare resources, yet planning ahead in the context of dementia is challenging and requires consideration of numerous factors over an extended period of time. We examined caregivers' perceptions of current and end-stage medical care preferences in PwD and the impact of ACP-related discussions between caregivers and PwD.

Current intimate partner violence (IPV) during pregnancy was found to be associated with adverse health outcomes including pregnancy loss, preterm labor, pregnancy complications, hypertension, delivering low birth weight baby, physical injuries and stress. IPV in Ethiopia is considerably high. This study aimed at determining the prevalence of the IPV during the index pregnancy as measured at six weeks postpartum among women in their extended six weeks postpartum period and identify its correlates.

Background: Despite several studies having correlated Alzheimer's disease with mental health conditions, the extent to which they have been incorporated into Alzheimer's disease clinical trials remains unclear.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the temporal trends in mental health-related terminology in Alzheimer's disease clinical trials as a proxy measure of research interest. Additionally, it sought to determine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the frequency of these terms through pre-pandemic and post-pandemic trend assessment.
