Presented herein is the synthesis, structure, and optical properties of the aluminum(III)-zinc(II) heterometallic compound AlOC-57. This compound was found to form a large unit cell (approximately sixteen thousand atoms) and a three-shell nano-plate structure. Based on the Z-scan patterns, the third-order nonlinear optical response of the heterometallic nano-plate was mainly attributed to its nonlinear absorption (reverse saturable absorption).

The controllable synthesis of epitaxial nanopillar arrays is fundamentally important to the development of advanced electrical and optical devices. However, this fascinating growth method has rarely been applied to the bottom-up synthesis of plasmonic nanostructure arrays (PNAs) with many broad, important, and promising applications in optical sensing, nonlinear optics, surface-enhanced spectroscopies, photothermal conversion, photochemistry, etc. Here, a one-step epitaxial approach to single-crystalline NbTiN (NbTiN) nanopillar arrays based on the layer plus island growth mode is demonstrated by strain engineering.

As a member of the chalcogenide family, NiSe exhibits a direct bandgap of 1.74 eV, making it a promising candidate for nonlinear optical devices. However, its potential in the near-infrared region of the telecommunication band has not been fully explored.

Differently substituted pyrrole-azo‑benzene molecular photoswitches were prepared in a straightforward synthetic way. Their fundamental properties were investigated by XRD analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltammetry, UV‑Vis absorption spectroscopy, Hyper-Rayleigh Scattering, and NMR spectroscopy; the experimental results were further corroborated by DFT calculations. Thermal robustness, the HOMO/LUMO levels, and the absorption properties were altered mostly by substituting the N‑methylpyrrole moiety and further fine-tuned by modifying the benzene substituents.

Biosensors operating in the terahertz (THz) region are gaining substantial interest in biomedical analysis due to their significant potential for high-sensitivity trace-amount solution detection. However, progress in compact, high-sensitivity chips and methods for simple, rapid and trace-level measurements is limited by the spatial resolution of THz waves and their strong absorption in polar solvents. In this work, a compact nonlinear optical crystal (NLOC)-based reflective THz biosensor with a few arrays of asymmetrical meta-atoms was developed.

Iruplinalkib (WX-0593), a selective oral ALK/ROS1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor, was approved in China as first-line therapy for ALK-positive non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic ALK-positive NSCLC that has progressed following crizotinib therapy. Pharmacokinetics (PK) data of iruplinalkib have been collected in healthy subjects and patient populations in several studies. We developed a population PK (PopPK) model for describing iruplinalkib plasma concentrations and for evaluating whether dose adjustments are necessary based on demographic factors or disease characteristics.
