Importance: Occupational therapy practitioners use structured assessment tools to gather information from adults with intellectual disability (ID) in order to develop the occupational profile, guide occupational therapy intervention, and assess change over time.
Objective: To identify occupational therapy-related tools in the peer-reviewed literature for use in practice with adults with ID.
Data Sources: Peer-reviewed literature published between January 2002 and January 2018 included in CINAHL, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Scopus. Study Selection and Data Collection: The review included articles that had information on occupational therapy-related assessment with adults 18 yr or older who had primary or co-occurring ID.
Findings: Fifty-eight articles identified 73 occupational therapy-related assessment tools.
Conclusions And Relevance: This scoping review identified a broad range of assessment tools in the occupational therapy domain that are appropriate for adults with ID, some of which may be unfamiliar to occupational therapy practitioners. What This Article Adds: This scoping review provides occupational therapy practitioners with a summary of occupational therapy-related assessment tools for adults with ID and an assessment reference guide.

This paper describes the development and implementation of a telehealth system in Pakistan to build capacity of healthcare service providers and caregivers of children with developmental disabilities. An asynchronous telehealth system, in the form of a web app, improved therapy-related communication between the therapists and caregivers, thus enabling capacity building through sustained communication among the stakeholders. Participatory Action Research (PAR) identified barriers associated with communication, knowledge transfer, and caregiver learning.

Importance: Identifying the outcomes of occupational therapy after a distal radius fracture (DRF) is important so that effective strategies can be developed to mitigate the consequences associated with this common fracture.
Objective: To determine whether participation in occupational therapy improved functional status. Secondary objectives were to assess its effects on body functions and to examine the association between changes in outcome measures and occupational therapy-related factors.

Advancements in understanding the pathogenesis mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal diseases, encompassing inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal cancer, and gastroesophageal reflux disease, have led to the identification of numerous novel therapeutic targets. These discoveries have opened up exciting possibilities for developing gene therapy strategies to treat gastrointestinal diseases. These strategies include gene replacement, gene enhancement, gene overexpression, gene function blocking, and transgenic somatic cell transplantation.

Chemotherapy and radiotherapy for a previous cancer can lead to subsequent myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). However, these therapy-related cases are hypothesized to explain only 5 % of diagnosed MDS cases. Environmental or occupational exposure to chemicals or radiations has also been reported to be associated with higher risk of MDS.
