The aim of this study was to investigate the association between genotypes and haplotypes of and milk composition in dairy cows. A total of 317 Chinese Holstein cows were genotyped via DNA sequencing in this study. Three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), g.2916G > A, g.58675C > T and g.58899C > A, and eight haplotypes were identified. Of the eight possible haplotypes, four haplotypes i.e., Hap2 (ACC; 55.30%), Hap6 (GCC, 15.6%), Hap1 (ACA, 13.6%) and Hap4 (ATC, 5.70%), were considered to be major with a cumulative estimated frequency of >90%. Single markers (g.2916G > A and g.58899C > A) and Haplotype Hap6/4 were found to be associated with an increase in butter-fat percentage ( < 0.05). Taken together, our results provided evidence that polymorphisms in are associated with milk composition, and could potentially be used for marker-assisted selection in Chinese Holstein cows.

Chemometrics; use of statistical models to characterise and understand complex chemical systems/samples, is an advancing field. In the dairy industry, the accurate prediction of milk composition involves combining mid-infrared spectroscopy with chemometric techniques for the evaluation of major constituents of milk. The increased interest in determination of detailed composition of dairy products, alongside emerging and more-widespread use of chemometric methodologies, have generated continuous improvement in predictive models for this application.

Early infancy is a critical period for immune development. In addition to being the primary food source during early infancy, human milk also provides multiple bioactive components that shape the infant gut microbiome and immune system and provides a constant source of exposure to maternal microbiota. Given the potential interplay between allergic diseases and the human microbiome, this study aimed to characterise the milk microbiome of allergic mothers.

Eight lactating rabbits with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group (BPA) and the control group (Ctrl). The group BPA was orally administered 80 mg/kg/day BPA on the 15th day postpartum, while the group Ctrl received a corresponding volume of vehicle.

Fish skin is the basic source of gelatin, which contains a high amount of protein. The results show that the proximate compositions (protein, fat, ash, moisture, fiber, carbohydrate, and total energy) of the optimized ice cream product with ingredient compositions of (30% milk, 40% avocado pulp, 10% sugar, 15% gelatin, and 5% cream) show values of 3.

The purpose of the paper was to apply an Artificial Neural Networks with Radial Basis Function to develop an application model for diagnosing a subclinical ketosis type I and II in dairy cattle. While building the neural network model, applied methodology was compatible to the procedures used in Data Mining processes. The data set was created based on the composition of milk samples of 1520 Polish Holstein-Friesian cows.
