Anti-seizure medications and deep brain stimulation are widely used therapies to treat seizures; however, both face limitations such as resistance and the unpredictable nature of seizures. Recent advancements, including responsive neural stimulation and on-demand drug release, have been developed to address these challenges. However, a gap remains, as electrical stimulation provides only transient effects while medication has a delayed onset.

Introduction: Aortic dissection is a devastating clinical entity with a variety of presentations and requires prompt recognition and management. To our knowledge this is the first reported case of a patient who presented with a globus sensation and was diagnosed with an aortic dissection prior to clinical deterioration.

Case Report: The patient presented with an episode of near-syncope and globus sensation.

Objective: To characterize the clinical courses and outcomes of patients presenting with post-myocardial infarction (MI) ventricular septal rupture (VSR) receiving temporary microaxial transvalvular left ventricular assist device (tVAD) support.

Methods: Between December 2019 and July 2023, 10 consecutive patients presented with a post-MI VSR. All 10 patients received a tVAD.
