Most studies on migrant domestic workers (MDW) focus on their problems and vulnerabilities, whereas not much is known about their positive attributes and character strengths. Hence, this study intends to deviate from the usual deficit-based view of MDW, which portrays them as victims, to a strengths-based perspective, which highlights their character strengths. In this study, we examined MDW's character strengths (i.e. positive human attributes that contribute to the thriving of oneself and others) and work-related factors associated with it. The participants of the study were 631 Filipino female MDW in Hong Kong. We examined how work-related factors (employer support and working conditions) predicted different character strength domains (courage, humanity, justice, moderation, transcendence and wisdom) through strengths use. Results of structural equation modelling revealed that employer support consistently predicted all six domains of character strengths through increased strengths use. These findings highlight the important role of employer support on MDW's character strengths. More importantly, it can raise critical awareness on MDW's strengths and well-being, and provide a platform for future strengths-based programmes and policies.

Using the free energy of hydrogen adsorption (Δ ) as the indicator, five borophene phases are previously shown to possess high catalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). On these borophene phases, we investigate the role of the coordination number (CN = 4, 5, 6) of the adsorption sites and the puckering of the adsorption site. CN is discovered to have a profound effect on the Δ distribution, charge, and puckering height () of adsorption sites.

Background: Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), characterized by severe irritability and temper outbursts, is a relatively new diagnosis included in the DSM-5. The study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics, temperament, comorbidities, medication use, and sleep quality of children and adolescents diagnosed with DMDD and compare them with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).
Methods: A total of 233 participants (DMDD: = 106; MDD: = 127) were assessed using the K-SADS-PL.

First-principles density functional theory calculations are carried out on the (TiO) cluster supported on the TiCT (0001) surface with different chemical terminations, , -H, -O, and -OH, to study the interaction and understand the TiCT functionalization effect on the formation of (TiO)/TiCT composites. Results show an exothermic interaction for all cases, whose strength is driven by the surface termination, promoting weaker bonds when the MXene is functionalized with H atoms. For TiCH and TiC(OH) MXenes, the interaction is accompanied by a charge transfer towards the titania cluster.

Azuacenes, defined as azulene fused with acenes in a 6-7-5 ring topology and spanning lengths from 3 to 6 rings, have been synthesized using a new skeleton editing and [3 + 2] annulation synthesis protocol as a distinction regarding the procedures to obtain the 6-5-7 isomers. Comprehensive studies on ground-state and excited-state spectroscopy, electrochemical properties, chemical stability, and solid-state structure have been conducted to compare these azuacenes with acenes. For the same number of rings, we found that azuacenes improve the chemical stability of acenes (i.

Advances in the development of additive manufacturing materials (AM) and the low availability of studies on the impact response of AM specimens are the main reasons for this paper. Therefore, the influence of building orientation (vertical and horizontal) and the angle of the raster (15°/-75°, 30°/-60°, 45°/-45°, and 0°/90°) on the tensile and impact strength of AM specimens was investigated. The polylactic acid (PLA)-PolyMax, Mediflex and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) filaments were chosen to provide a comprehensive characterization of AM materials with versatile mechanical properties.
