Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is often accompanied with several neuromuscular complications of which muscle fatigue is one of the scantily studied and less-explored complication of this disease.

Objective: To investigate the effects of resistance training (RT) on muscle fatigue markers from electromyography (EMG) and capillary blood in T2DM patients.

Methods: Forty T2DM patients were randomized to either RT (n = 20) or control group (n = 20). They were assessed for EMG indices of muscle fatigue along with blood lactate (at three time points: Lactate, Lactate, Lactate) during a dynamic fatigue protocol. Dynamic fatigue protocol consisted of 5 sets of leg press exercise at 10 repetition maximum intensity. RT group performed moderate intensity (65%-75% 1 repetition maximum) RT 3 times/week for 12 weeks. Control group followed usual routine.

Results: Findings revealed that EMG amplitude (root mean square) and Dimitrov's muscle fatigue index (FI) decreased significantly while median frequency (MF) increased significantly during the dynamic fatigue protocol for both vastus medialis (Root mean square, = .02; FI, = .001; MF, < .001) and vastus lateralis muscle (Root mean square, = .04,FI = .01; MF, < .001) post-RT. Blood lactate responses did not change after RT (Lactate, = .55; Lactate, = .91; Lactate, = .33).

Conclusions: Findings of the present study illustrated that moderate intensity RT led to a significant reduction muscle fatigue in knee extensor muscles of T2DM patients. These results reinforce the utilization of RT in patients with T2DM.

Background: Dermatomyositis is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting muscles and skin, often associated with an increased risk of cancer. Specific autoantibodies, including anti-TIF1 (Transcription Intermediary Factor 1), have been linked to this risk. We present a case of dermatomyositis in a male patient positive for anti-TIF1 antibodies, subsequently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tonsil, a novel association not previously documented.

Background: Back pain is a common but often underestimated symptom of patients with MS that can negatively influence their quality of life. However there are only limited number of studies comparing the effect of different types of exercise and use of telerehabilitation on back pain in MS. Therefore, the aim of the study is to compare whether telerehabilitation alone is as effective as conventional outpatient physiotherapy followed by online exercise.

Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Corn Deep Processing Theory and Technology, College of Food and Bioengineering, Qiqihar University, Qiqihar 161006, China.

Objectives: This study aimed to clarify the effect of lactic acid bacteria-fermented corn protein hydrolysate (FCH) on fatigue in mice and explore the connection between fatigue-related indicators and intestinal microbial flora.

Methods: The fatigue model of mice was constructed by exercise endurance experiment. The anti-fatigue level of FCH was evaluated by measuring physiological and biochemical indexes in mouse serum, liver and skeletal muscle.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an 8-week physiotherapy program on muscle strength, functional capacity, respiratory function, and quality of life in women recovering from COVID-19. A prospective cohort study was conducted with 42 women aged 18-65 who experienced muscle strength loss and functional impairments post-COVID-19. Participants underwent personalized physiotherapy interventions, including resistance training, respiratory therapy, and functional mobility exercises, for 8 weeks.
