Background: Social app recruiting-based and peer-led testing strategies have been proven effective in increasing human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) testing among men who have sex with men (MSM), though their combination remains underevaluated. We aimed to assess the efficiency of a combined strategy named "standardly trained peer volunteer-led, social app recruiting-based HIV testing strategy using rapid testing kits" (SPARK).

Methods: Between March 2020 and December 2021, 177 trained peer volunteers tested 7256 eligible MSM testers.

Objectives: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) with emtricitabine/tenofovir to prevent HIV in individuals with hepatitis B virus (HBV) raises concerns about HBV reactivation when stopping event-driven PrEP or redundancy in HBV treatment for continuous PrEP (since tenofovir alone would be enough for HBV). Real-world data from PrEP services could provide useful epidemiological information on HBV prevalence in PrEP attendees in low-prevalence countries.

Methods: A retrospective analysis on PrEP attendees of three services in northern Italy were conducted to assess HBV prevalence among PrEP attendees and the need for primary cycle/booster dose HBV vaccination despite previous vaccination during childhood (at birth or 12 years).

Introduction: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is not currently included in the United Kingdom routine antenatal screening program, but the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and Infectious Diseases Society of America recommend HCV screening for all pregnant women during each pregnancy. The aim of this study was to collect qualitative data on the feasibility and acceptability of antenatal HCV screening in pregnant women at the time of routine antenatal screening at 12 weeks, to estimate patient knowledge about HCV and identify the prevalence of HCV infection in antenatal women.

Methods: This was a pilot study targeting a single hospital-based antenatal clinic in Birmingham, initially conducted for eight weeks with a further extension of the study period to enhance recruitment to meet the feasibility target of 500 patients.

Introduction: There is limited evidence on pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) uptake post-trial participation for women vulnerable to HIV. This study investigates the prevalence and factors associated with PrEP uptake post-participation in an HIV prevention trial.

Methods: Former Antibody Mediated Prevention (AMP) study participants were invited to the three AMP clinical research sites in Zimbabwe after at least a year of exiting the study.
