Group 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s) control tissue homeostasis and orchestrate mucosal inflammation; however, the precise mechanisms governing ILC3 activity are fully understood. Here, we identified the transmembrane protein neuropilin-1 (NRP1) as a positive regulator of interleukin (IL)-17-producing ILC3s in the intestine. NRP1 was markedly upregulated in intestinal mucosal biopsies from patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) compared with healthy controls.

Background/aim: Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis, though rare, is the most common form of autoimmune encephalitis, predominantly affecting young individuals, particularly females. Standard treatments include corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG), and plasmapheresis, with rituximab recommended for those unresponsive to first-line therapies. However, reliable biomarkers for clinical assessment remain elusive.

Background/aim: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 insertions are very rare mutations and their response to tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) is uncertain. We report our experience concerning two patients, along with a literature review.
Patients And Methods: A total of 1,046 non-small-cell lung cancer tumor tissue samples were screened for EGFR mutations, using direct sequencing or next-generation sequencing.

Background/aim: Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the most common indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma worldwide. Patients can have a wide range of clinical features and behavior which does not necessarily correlate to histologic grade or Ki-67 proliferation index. We hypothesized that patients with low grade but high proliferative index (LG/HP) FL have a more aggressive disease course.

Background/aim: Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare and highly aggressive hematologic cancer which is difficult to diagnose and has a lot of overlapping features with other diseases, particularly acute myeloid leukemia (AML). BPDCN shares several immunophenotypic markers with AML, such as CD4, CD56, CD123, and HLA-DR, stating the importance of having extending panel of specific immunohistochemical (IHC) markers.
Case Report: This report details a case of CLL who presented with worsening symptoms of recurrent infections and leukocytosis.
