Robert Wartenberg was an emigrant from Nazi Germany and an iconic pioneer in neurology, describing eponyms and helping to found and nurture the American Academy of Neurology. However, in 1953, ironically, he became embroiled in a controversial event regarding the German neuroscientist and Nazi collaborator Julius Hallervorden. Wartenberg attempted to convince the Dutch delegation to attend the International Neurological Congress in Lisbon from which they had withdrawn in response to Hallervorden's inclusion as a speaker.

Ruxolitinib has been approved for the treatment of adults and pediatric patients ≥12 years with steroid refractory graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). However, real-life studies are needed to confirm the results of clinical trials and further assess its efficacy in special populations. We performed a descriptive, retrospective, multi-center study of 352 adults and 42 pediatric patients treated with ruxolitinib for steroid-refractory acute or chronic GvHD.

The β-amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1) inhibitor JNJ-54861911, a candidate for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, was withdrawn from clinical trials due to drug-induced liver injury (DILI). This paper describes our investigation of the metabolism of JNJ-54861911 to understand the potential contribution to the observed DILI. In human hepatocytes, JNJ-54861911 is metabolized by CYP450 3A4 to a reactive intermediate (RI), which undergoes glutathione (GSH) addition at C6 of the 2-amino-4-methyl-1,3-thiazin-4-yl moiety via glutathione S-transferase α1 (GSTA1) catalysis.

Anhedonia, the diminished drive to seek, value, and learn about rewards, is a core feature of major depressive disorder. The neural underpinnings of anhedonia and how this emotional state drives behaviour remain unclear. Here we investigated the neural code of anhedonia by taking advantage of the fact that when mice are exposed to traumatic social stress, susceptible animals become socially withdrawn and anhedonic, whereas others remain resilient.
