Background: Better therapeutic options other than conventional chemotherapy for pediatric patients with refractory Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) remain undetermined.
Case: We successfully treated two patients with refractory and risk organ negative LCH with clofarabine (CLO) monotherapy after recurrence. We administered total 23 courses of CLO monotherapy in patient 1 and 4 courses in patient 2. Both patients had distinct clinical manifestations but achieved a durable complete response with acceptable adverse effects of transient myelosuppression. CLO monotherapy was still effective when he had the second recurrent lesion after first completion of CLO in patient 1. We could discontinue prednisolone to control his refractory inflammation of LCH after completing CLO chemotherapy in patient 2.
Conclusion: Although large-scale studies are warranted, CLO monotherapy could be a therapeutic option for high efficacy and feasibility besides other intensive combination chemotherapies or allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for refractory LCH without risk organ involvement in children.

This study aimed to assess the association between long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotic prescription and the risk of psychiatric hospitalization in patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) receiving clozapine. In this retrospective cohort study at a single tertiary psychiatric center, we analyzed rehospitalization hazard ratios (HRs) in refractory schizophrenia patients, classified by and criteria. We examined various psychotropic regimens-clozapine with or without other oral antipsychotics (OAPs) or LAI antipsychotics.

The increasing resistance of clinically relevant microbes against current commercially available antimicrobials underpins the urgent need for alternative and novel treatment strategies. Cationic lipidated oligomers (CLOs) are innovative alternatives to antimicrobial peptides and have reported antimicrobial potential. An understanding of their antimicrobial mechanism of action is required to rationally design future treatment strategies for CLOs, either in monotherapy or synergistic combinations.

Objective: We aimed to investigate antiplatelet drug resistance utilizing light transmission-lumiaggregometry (LT-LA) and the Platelet Function Analyzer-100 (PFA-100) in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
Materials And Methods: The study included 60 patients diagnosed with stable coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular diseases that required surgery. Participants were divided into three groups: patients receiving aspirin (ASA) (n=21), patients receiving clopidogrel (CLO) (n=19), and patients receiving dual therapy (ASA+CLO) (n=20).

Background Aims: The advanced therapy product tisagenlecleucel is a CD19-directed genetically modified autologous T-cell immunotherapy that has brought hope for children and young adults with relapsed/refractory (R/R) B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). We sought to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of tisagenlecleucel compared with conventional salvage therapies in pediatric and young adult patients with R/R B-ALL.
Methods: This systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses parameters as registered in International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (CRD42021266998).
