A several of basic ionic liquids (ILs) were synthesized as green solvents and catalysts for the preparation of 1,8-naphthyridyl derivatives via the Friedlander reaction. [Bmmim][Im] exhibited remarkable catalytic activity to achieve the synthetic targets, and the reaction conditions were optimized. The model product 2,3-diphenyl-1,8-naphthyridine (1,8-Nap), with carboxyethylthiosuccinic acid (CETSA) to form an IL corrosion inhibitor ([1,8-Nap][CETSA]), and its corrosion inhibition performance for Q235 steel in 1 M HCl were researched by weight loss measurements, and the results showed that the inhibition efficiency was 96.95% when the concentration of [1,8-Nap][CETSA] was 1 mM at 35 °C. The electrochemical test verified that [1,8-Nap][CETSA] acted as a mixed-type inhibitor but mainly exhibited cathodic behavior. The inhibitor adsorbed on the metal surface was further proved by surface topography analysis.

Aim: To investigate the influence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and hyperglycaemia on blood vessels and angiogenic markers in the dental pulp.
Methodology: Extracted non-carious permanent molar teeth were collected from patients with well-controlled T2D (n = 10) and non-T2D (controls) (n = 10). The pulp was examined qualitatively using haematoxylin and eosin and Van Gieson stains.

The synthesis of a novel phosphine-based pincer chromium(II) complex CrCl(PONN) (Cr-1) is reported in this study. The complex exhibited promising catalytic performance in C-C and C-N bond formation using the borrowing hydrogen methodology. Cr-1 catalyzed the α-alkylation of ketones using primary alcohols as alkyl surrogates in the presence of catalytic amount of a base.

Pyridine, N-containing heterocyclic organic compound, displays strong coordination capabilities with various metal ions. It can be synthesized through various methods, such as Friedlander synthesis, heterocumulene synthesis, cross-coupling reactions, the Radziszewski reaction, Bonnemann cyclization, as well as cobalt-catalyzed synthesis. Experimental and spectroscopic analyses have demonstrated a strong binding affinity between pyridine and several heavy metal ions, including Pb, Hg, and Cd ions.

Herein, we describe an air- and moisture-stable, homogeneous zinc catalyst stabilised using an electron deficient N^N^N pincer-type ligand. This ternary, penta-coordinated neutral molecular catalyst [Zn(N^N^N)Cl] selectively produces α-alkylated ketone derivatives (14 examples) through a one-pot acceptorless dehydrogenative coupling (ADC) reaction between secondary and primary alcohols using the borrowing hydrogen (BH) approach in good to excellent isolated yields (up to 93%). It is worth noting that this catalyst also provides an eco-friendly route for the synthesis of quinoline derivatives (30 examples) using 2-aminobenzyl alcohols as alkylating agents successive dehydrogenative coupling and N-annulation reactions.
