Background: Clinical decisions regarding ankle-foot-orthosis stiffness in people with calf muscle weakness are based on immediate evaluations, not taking gait adaptation into account. This study examined adaptation of step length, walking speed and energy cost of walking in the 3-months post-provision and whether individuals with higher gait variability adapt more compared to individuals with lower gait variability.
Methods: We conducted a post-hoc analysis in eighteen stiffness-optimized ankle-foot-orthosis users with bilateral calf muscle weakness.

High-velocity lateral impacts to the nose sometimes cause nasal buckle-out fractures with a trapdoor buckle-out segment displaced outwards. Prolonged immobilization of a reduced buckle-out segment at risk for outward redisplacement remains challenging. Here we introduce a novel method of intranasal outer cortex splinting with a Kirshner (K)-wire to reinforce the reduced state and prevent outward re-displacement of the buckle-out segment.

Introduction: Oral cancer has emerged as a significant public health issue, with 90% of instances because of avoidable causes. Smokeless tobacco usage is thought to be a substantial source of cytological alterations in the oral mucosa, and snuff (Shamma) is often used in Saudi Arabia. In this study, we investigated community awareness of Shamma as a cause of oral cancer in the Jazan region's general population.
