2-(Chlorodiisopropylsilyl)-6-(trimethylsilyl)phenyl triflate serves as an efficient aryne precursor for intramolecular benzyne [4 + 2] or (2 + 2 + 2) cycloadditions. Key features of this precursor are (1) rapid connection of various arynophiles to the precursor a Si-O bond and (2) generation of aryne under mild conditions using a combination of CsCO and 18-crown-6.

Thioxanthone synthesis from -silylaryl triflates and thioureas is disclosed. Double aryne insertion into the C═S double bond of thioureas and subsequent hydrolysis realized the facile preparation of thioxanthones. A simple reaction procedure and good accessibility of -silylaryl triflates allowed us to synthesize a wide range of highly functionalized thioxanthones.

Inner Helmholtz layer control through co-solvent strategies for high-performance copper hexacyanoferrate//zinc battery.

Copper hexacyanoferrate (CuHCF) demonstrates high working voltage, convenient synthesis methods, and economic benefits. However, capacity decay of CuHCF//Zn full cells is usually observed in aqueous electrolytes due to the dissolution of Cu and Fe, as indicated by the irreversible insertion of Zn ions and the consequent formation of ZnCuHCF. To address these challenges, a cathode-oriented electrolyte engineering design employing a methyl acetate (MA) co-solvent with zinc triflate (Zn(OTf)) salt electrolyte is implemented.

The urgent need for sustainable, low-emission energy solutions has positioned proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) as a promising technology in clean energy conversion. Polysulfone (PSF) membranes with incorporated ionic liquid (IL) and hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane-functionalized silica (SiO-PDMS) were developed and characterized for their potential application in PEMFCs. Using a phase inversion method, membranes with various combinations of PSFs, SiO-PDMS, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium triflate (BMI.

An efficient synthesis of continuously substituted quinoline derivatives palladium-catalyzed intramolecular 6- imidoylative cyclization of -alkenyl aryl isocyanides with (hetero)aryl halides or vinylic triflates has been developed. The reaction proceeds through the concerted metalation-deprotonation (CMD) mechanism by activation of a vinyl C-H bond with imidoylpalladium assisted by the carboxylate.

Simple aryl chlorides represent challenging substrates in iron-catalyzed borylation. A combination of Li[B(Bu)pin-Bpin] as the borylating reagent and a catalyst formed in situ from iron(II) triflate and the commercially available N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, IMes, gives significantly improved activity and a much broader scope than previously reported iron-based catalysts. Iron triflate is also a good precatalyst for the borylation of aryl triflates─a previously unreported transformation─and in these cases the IMes ligand is not required.
