Silk fibroin (SF) hydrogel has been proven to have excellent applications in the field of pressure sensors, but its sensing performance still needs improvement. A flexible hydrogel prepared from natural macromolecular materials was developed, and lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) were introduced during the preparation of the SF hydrogel. When LNPs account for 3% of SF, the sensing unit of the SF-LNPs hydrogel exhibits high stress sensitivity (1.

Plants are able to sense and remember heat stress. An initial priming heat stress enables plants to acclimate so that they are able to survive a subsequent higher temperature. The heatshock transcription factors (HSFs) play a crucial role in this process, but the mechanisms by which plants sense heat stress are not well understood.

Banana is sensitive to cold stress and often suffers from chilling injury with browning peel and failure to normal ripening. We have previously reported that banana chilling injury is accompanied by a reduction of miR528 accumulation, alleviating the degradation of its target gene MaPPO and raising ROS levels that cause peel browning. Here, we further revealed that the miR528-MaPPO cold-responsive module was regulated by miR156-targeted SPL transcription factors, and the miR156c-MaSPL4 module was also responsive to cold stress in banana.

Monitoring dynamic neurochemical signals in the brain of free-moving animals remains great challenging in biocompatibility and direct implantation capability of current electrodes. Here we created a self-supporting polymer-based flexible microelectrode (rGPF) with sufficient bending stiffness for direct brain implantation without extra devices, but demonstrating low Young's modulus with remarkable biocompatibility and minimal position shifts. Meanwhile, screening by density functional theory (DFT) calculation, we designed and synthesized specific ligands targeting Mg2+ and Ca2+, and constructed Mg-E and Ca-E sensors with high selectivity, good reversibility, and fast response time, successfully monitoring Mg2+ and Ca2+ in vivo up to 90 days.

Purpose: The survival benefits of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) patients are inconsistent. This study aims to investigate how different tumor regression grades (TRG) influence the survival gains associated with NAC treatment.
Methods: This study compared the treatment outcomes of patients who underwent CSC (neoadjuvant chemotherapy - surgery - adjuvant chemotherapy) with those receiving traditional SC (surgery - adjuvant chemotherapy) treatment.
