demonstrated good phytostabilization potentials in toxic element (TE) contaminated soils. However, information about its tolerance to elevated concentrations is still scarce. Therefore, an ex-situ pot experiment was launched using three cultivars (termed B, U, and A) grown in soils with a gradient Cd, Pb and Zn concentrations. Control plants were also cultivated in non-contaminated soil. Results show that the number of tillers per plant, stem diameter as well as leaf photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll , and carotenoids) were negatively impacted by soil contamination. On the other hand, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins, and anthocyanins levels along with the antioxidant enzymatic activities of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase increased in the plants grown on contaminated soils. Altogether, these data demonstrate that miscanthus is impacted by concentrations of toxic elements yet is able to tolerate high levels of soil contamination. These results may contribute to clarifying the miscanthus tolerance strategy against high contamination levels and its efficiency in phytoremediation.

Cotton is essential for the global textile industry however, climate change, especially extreme temperatures, threatens sustainable cotton production. This research aims to identify breeding strategies to improve heat tolerance and utilize stress-resistant traits in cotton cultivars. This study investigated heat tolerance for 50 cotton genotypes at the seedling stage by examining various traits at three temperatures (32 °C, 45 °C and 48 °C) in a randomized plot experiment.

Increasing plant density is an effective strategy for enhancing crop yield per unit land area. A key architectural trait for crops adapting to high planting density is smaller leaf angle (LA). Previous studies have demonstrated that LG1, a SQUAMOSA BINDING PROTEIN (SBP) transcription factor, plays a critical role in LA establishment.

Nitric oxide (NO) positively contributes to maintaining a high photosynthetic rate in waterlogged-wheat plants by maintaining high stomatal conductance (g), mesophyll conductance (g), and electron transport rates in PSII (J). However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the synergistic regulation of photosynthetic characteristics during wheat waterlogging remain unclear. Pot experiments were conducted with two cultivars: Yangmai15 (YM15: high waterlogging-tolerance capacity) and Yangmai24 (YM24: conventional waterlogging-tolerance capacity).
