Recently, a new type of dental anomaly, a molar-incisor malformation or molar root-incisor malformation (MRIM), was recognized. The disease phenotype is now relatively well characterized; however, its etiology and disease-mechanism need to be elucidated. The affected teeth do not respond well to conventional treatment because of severe malformation and an unusual root structure. In this study, we present the treatment of MRIM cases with the extraction of severely aberrant permanent first molars (PFMs) and suggest that the PFM extractions are performed when it is clear that third molars will develop. The purpose of this report was primarily to present amendments to the guidelines for the treatment of patients with MRIM.

Isothiocyanates (ITCs), found in edible plants such as cruciferous vegetables, are a group of reactive organo-sulfur phytochemicals produced by the hydrolysis of precursors known as glucosinolates. ITCs have been studied extensively both in vivo and in vitro to define their therapeutic potential for the treatment of chronic health conditions. Therapeutically, they have shown an intrinsic ability to inhibit oxidative and inflammatory phenotypes to support enhanced health.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a severe, progressive disorder characterized by elevated pulmonary arterial pressure, leading to right ventricular failure and increased mortality. Despite advancements in management, the median survival for PH patients remains 5-7 years, with an inhospital mortality rate of approximately 6%. The core pathological feature of PH is pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR), a multifactorial process involving endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, and aberrant immune responses.

Mutations in the ANXA11 gene, encoding an RNA-binding protein, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), but the underlying in vivo mechanisms remain unclear. This study examines the clinical features of ALS patients harboring the ANXA11 hotspot mutation p.P36R, characterized by late-onset motor neuron disease and occasional multi-system involvement.

Introduction: Patients with primary muscle tension dysphonia (pMTD) commonly report symptoms of vocal effort, fatigue, discomfort, odynophonia, and aberrant vocal quality (eg, vocal strain, hoarseness). However, voice symptoms most salient to pMTD have not been identified. Furthermore, how standard vocal fatigue and vocal tract discomfort indices that capture persistent symptoms-like the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) and Vocal Tract Discomfort Scale (VTDS)-relate to acute symptoms experienced at the time of the voice evaluation is unclear.

Terahertz (THz) lens constitutes a vital component in the THz system. Metasurfaces-based THz metalenses and classical bulky lenses are severely constrained by chromatic/ spherical aberration and the diffraction limit. Consequently, achromatic super-resolution THz lenses are urgently needed.
