Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is a common malignant oral cancer characterized by substantial invasion, a high rate of lymph node and distant metastasis, and a high recurrence rate. This study aims to provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of TSCC patients by exploring the related mechanisms that affect the migration and invasion of TSCC and inhibit the migration and spread of cancer cells. The results indicated the rate of high expression of IL-17 in cancer tissues was greater than that in tongue tissues, and the expression of IL-17 was related to the TNM stage.

CHD6 has poly(ADP-ribose)- and DNA-binding domains and regulates PARP1/2-trapping inhibitor sensitivity via abasic site repair.

To tolerate oxidative stress, cells enable DNA repair responses often sensitive to poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) polymerase 1 and 2 (PARP1/2) inhibition-an intervention effective against cancers lacking BRCA1/2. Here, we demonstrate that mutating the CHD6 chromatin remodeler sensitizes cells to PARP1/2 inhibitors in a manner distinct from BRCA1, and that CHD6 recruitment to DNA damage requires cooperation between PAR- and DNA-binding domains essential for nucleosome sliding activity. CHD6 displays direct PAR-binding, interacts with PARP-1 and other PAR-associated proteins, and combined DNA- and PAR-binding loss eliminates CHD6 relocalization to DNA damage.

Distinguishing tumor maintenance genes from initiation, progression, and passenger genes is critical for developing effective therapies. We employed a functional genomic approach using the Lazy Piggy transposon to identify tumor maintenance genes in vivo and applied this to sonic hedgehog (SHH) medulloblastoma (MB). Combining Lazy Piggy screening in mice and transcriptomic profiling of human MB, we identified the voltage-gated potassium channel KCNB2 as a candidate maintenance driver.

Enhanced degradation of sulfamethoxazole in water by biochar loading and multiple free and non-free radicals cooperating in the FeS@BC/PS system.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

Institute of Environmental Pollution and Health, School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Shanghai University, Shanghai, 200444, PR China. Electronic address:

The excessive consumption of sulfamethoxazole (SMX), a pharmaceutical antibiotic, poses significant environmental hazards. The FeS-persulfate (FeS-PS) system has been employed for SMX remediation because of its excellent performance. However, FeS tends to agglomerate and become passivated, negatively impacting its activation performance.

Conductive materials enhance anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) treating waste leachate at high organic loading rates.

J Environ Manage

January 2025

College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou, China; International Science and Technology Cooperation Platform for Low-Carbon Recycling of Waste and Green Development, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou, China. Electronic address:

The treatment of landfill leachate using anaerobic membrane bioreactors (AnMBRs) often faces challenges such as poor removal efficiency, low methane yield and membrane fouling. This study applied AnMBRs with incrementally adding conductive materials to enhance the treatment of landfill leachate under high organic loading rates(35 kg COD/(m∙d)). With 50 g/L activated carbon, COD removal percentages and methane yield increased to 81.
