Many recent studies have showed that morphological changes are one of the key signs of meibomian gland disease (MGD). These changes can be seen even before symptom onset, potentially underestimating the prevalence of MGD; however, until now, there is no conclusive information about the impact of meibomian gland (MG) morphology in tear film physiology and disease. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of anatomical and morphological MG alterations between patients with evaporative dry eye disease (DED) and healthy controls. Retrospective chart review of seventy-five patients with evaporative DED and healthy individuals who had dry eye assessments included Ocular Surface Disease Index questionnaire, meibum quality, meibum expressibility, lid margin abnormality, ocular staining, non-invasive tear film break-up time, and meibography. We did not find significant differences in MG alterations in the upper lid between healthy and DED subjects. Patients with evaporative DED presented MG alterations in the lower lid more frequently than healthy subjects (54.8 vs. 30.3%; p = 0.03). The presence of shortened glands was the only MG alteration that was more prevalent in the lower lid in dry-eye patients than in healthy subjects (p < 0.05). Subjects with evaporative DED presented more alterations in the lower lid than healthy subjects.

Yataprasen (YTPS) remedy ethanolic spray, one of the National Thai Traditional Medicine Formulary, is extensively employed in Thai traditional healthcare to manage musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Despite its widespread use, the quality and stability of the YTPS formulation, critical to its efficacy, safety, and patient adherence, have not been comprehensively studied. This research developed and optimized a film-forming spray (FFS) formulation of YTPS ethanolic extract and conducted a 6-month stability evaluation.

This study aimed to evaluate ocular surface temperature (OST) in post-COVID-19 patients with different degrees of fever via infrared thermal imaging. There were 16 participants (32 eyes) in the control group, 22 participants (44 eyes) in the moderate and low post-COVID-19 fever group (M & L fever group), and 18 participants (36 eyes) in the high post-COVID-19 fever group (H fever group). All participants underwent an ophthalmic slit lamp examination and ocular thermography.

Introduction: Emollients are part of daily body care and have become indispensable therapeutic adjuvants for the treatment of dry skin conditions. Adherence to topical treatments, notably for dry skin conditions, has been reported to be low. The underlying reasons may include insufficient medical and nursing support for product selection, specific product attributes, aspects of product application, and product feel on the skin.

Background: Dentin hypersensitivity affects a significant portion of the world's population, causing pain and negatively impacting oral health and quality of life This clinical study investigated the effectiveness of a desensitizing fluoride silicon-rich dental gel associated with a calcium booster.
Material And Methods: In this single-blind, randomized, parallel-group clinical trial, forty-eight volunteers diagnosed with dentin hypersensitivity and qualified to participate were randomized into 2 groups: (1) fluoride silicon-rich dental gel (REFX Technology)/calcium booster (Si/Ca protocol); (2) Pumice stone diluted in saline. A draw was carried out between the right and left sides of the patients so that either a prophylaxis with the dental gel associated with calcium or with fine pumice stone diluted in saline was carried out.

The present work focuses on the production of sildenafil co-evaporates loaded emulgels as topical dosage forms for the treatment of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Topical administration of sildenafil citrate (SILD) co-evaporates is expected to improve the bioavailability profile of the drug and to avoid the severe side effects accompanying the traditional SILD dosage forms, especially for prohibited cardiovascular cases. Firstly, the solubility of SILD was improved via solid dispersion via co-evaporation technique using PEG-5KDa and PVP-K90 as hydrophilic carriers.
