Background: Tendon-bone interface (TBI) healing in chronic rotator cuff injury (CRCI) in older individuals is a common clinical challenge due to cellular senescence, as well as decreased tissue repair and regeneration. Many studies have demonstrated the antiaging, improved tissue repair, and bone regeneration properties of rapamycin (RPM) in multiple age-related diseases. This study aimed to explore the effects of RPM on TBI healing after CRCI in an aging rat model.

While particulate bone substitute materials are applied in a variety of augmentation procedures, standardized defects are being used for preclinical testing. This in vitro study evaluated the density and homogeneity of a particulate bone substitute in ridge preservation procedures. Premolars and molars were extracted in ten semimandibles of minipig cadavers.

This evaluation correlates maxillary sinus 3D morphology with bone regeneration. In 39 patients with crestal bone ≤ 2 mm, mineralized human bone allografts were used to augment the sinus floor through the crestal window sinus elevation approach. CBCT was used to measure the buccopalatal diameter (BPD), mesiodistal diameter (MDD), and hemi-ellipsoidal volume (Vh) in all sinuses.

Total disc replacements utilize textured coatings to maximize bony ongrowth. However, the contribution of direct bony attachment to overall fixation for total disc replacements has not been reported. The goal of the present study was to document the extent of bony attachment to the surfaces of two clinically functional total disc replacements that were securely fixed at the time of revision.

Purpose: This study aimed to topographically examine the healing of mineralized human bone allograft in sinus augmentation.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-two patients with crestal bone height ≤ 2 mm who required sinus augmentation were recruited for the study. A mixture of 80/20 cortical/cancellous mineralized human bone allografts were used to augment the sinus floor using a crestal window approach.
