Objective: The aim of this study was to compare perinatal outcomes between patients with and without prenatal ultrasound markers predictive of complex gastroschisis.

Study Design: A prospective cohort of 98 patients with isolated fetal gastroschisis underwent antenatal ultrasound and delivered in a tertiary referral center. Patients were classified according to eight ultrasonographic markers predictive of complexity, and perinatal outcomes were assessed accordingly. RESULTS:  Of all fetuses, 54.1% ( = 53) displayed ultrasonographic markers predictive of complexity at 32.7 ± 4.3 weeks of gestation. Gastric dilatation was the most frequent marker followed by extra-abdominal bowel dilatation. The presence of ultrasound markers predictive of complexity, was not associated with fetal growth restriction .

Conclusion: Fetuses with ultrasound markers that predict complexity were not associated with fetal growth restriction, but its absence was less associated with staged SILO reduction of the abdominal wall postnatally. It is necessary to unify criteria, establish cut-off points, and the optimal moment to measure these markers.

Key Points: · The association between ultrasound markers and adverse perinatal outcomes in fetuses with gastroschisis remain controversial.. · The absence of ultrasound markers that predict complexity was less associated with staged SILO reduction postnatally.. · It is necessary to unify criteria, establish cut-off points, and the optimal moment to measure these markers..

The absence of an effective imaging tool for diagnosing renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (RIRI) severely delays its treatment, and currently, no definitive clinical interventions are available. Pyroglutamate aminopeptidase-1 (PGP-1), a potential inflammatory cytokine, has shown considerable potential as a biomarker for tracing the inflammatory process in vivo. However, its exact role in the enhanced visualization of RIRI in complex biological systems has yet to be fully established.

Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS), a newly developed imaging technique, holds certain value in differentiating benign from malignant tumors. Additionally, serum tumor markers also exhibit significant clinical importance in the diagnosis and monitoring of malignant tumors. Reports have indicated abnormal expression of HER-2, CA153 and sE-cad in breast cancer.

Objective: To analyze the clinical effectiveness of Entecavir (ETV) and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) Tablets for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB).

Methods: Clinical data from 100 CHB patients admitted to our hospital from April 2022 to April 2024 were retrospectively reviewed. Of these, 45 cases in the control group received ETV, and 55 cases in the research group received TDF tablets.

Aim: Left atrial (LA) strain is emerging as a valuable metric for evaluating cardiac function, particularly under pathological conditions such as pressure overload. This preclinical study investigates the predictive utility of LA strain on cardiac function in a murine model subjected to pressure overload, mimicking pathologies such as hypertension and aortic stenosis.

Methods: High-resolution ultrasound was performed in a cohort of mice (n = 16) to evaluate left atrial and left ventricular function at baseline and 2 and 4 weeks after transverse aortic constriction (TAC).

Background: Previous studies have shown that higher uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) values in early pregnancy have predictive value for the risk of preeclampsia (PE). However, the sensitivity and specificity of this marker remain controversial. This study aims to explore further the association between UtA-PI in early pregnancy and the incidence of preeclampsia.
