Tomato is an important crop worldwide, but groundnut bud necrosis virus (GBNV) often hampers its growth. This study investigates the antiviral potential of bacterial endophytes, including CNEB54, CNEB4, CNEB26, and BAVE5 against GBNV, as well as their ability to enhance immunity and growth in tomato. All four bacterial isolates demonstrated a significant delay in GBNV symptom development 10 days post-inoculation, with disease incidence ranging from 18% to 36% compared to 84% in control.

Transglutaminases (TGases) are enzymes highly conserved among prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, where their role is to catalyze protein cross-linking. One of the putative TGases of has previously been shown to be localized to the cell wall. Based on sequence similarity we were able to identify six more genes annotated as putative TGases and show that these seven genes group together in phylogenetic analysis.

Assessing how dominant peatland species, such as Dasiphora fruticosa, adapt to water table decline is crucial to advance understanding of their growth and survival strategies. Currently, most studies have primarily focused on their growth and biomass, with limited knowledge on the response of non-structural carbohydrates (NSCs) and physiological adaptations of these woody plants under long-term drainage. This study assessed the response of photosynthesis and transpiration rates, biomass, and NSC concentrations (including soluble sugars and starch) in the leaves, stems, and roots of D.

We show that a combination of DNA and ionic liquid significantly increases the stability and activity of HRP and achieves a 4.8-fold higher peroxidase activity than PBS buffer. Also, HRP retains 84% of its activity in IL+DNA compared to 24% in PBS against trypsin digestion.

Improper use of antibiotics has led to the development of antimicrobial resistance, or "superbugs," outpacing the discovery of new antibiotics. The lack of rapid, high-throughput screening methods is a major bottleneck in discovery novel antibiotics. Traditional methods consume significant amounts of samples, making it challenging to discover new antibiotics from limited natural product extracts.
