The canonical problem of the icing of a water drop lying on a cold substrate is revisited to take into account the effects of atmospheric conditions on the icing front kinetics and on the tip formation. Here, we demonstrate both experimentally and theoretically that the air humidity induces liquid-vapor phase change at the icing droplet interface and that the associated heat transfer has a strong influence on both the icing front kinetics and the iced drop shape. The experimental results obtained in this study, as well as results from literature, compare well to a modified Stefan model accounting for the effects of humidity, showing a good agreement with the experimental data of both the front kinetics and tip angle.

Ground reaction forces (GRFs) are known to be high during front foot contact of fast bowling deliveries in cricket. There is a lack of published data on the GRFs during follow through foot contacts. The aim of this study was to quantify and compare peak GRFs and impulse of the delivery stride and the follow through of fast bowling deliveries.

Background: The mechanisms underlying the resistance of the genus to aminoglycosides are complex, which poses a challenge for the efficient treatment of infectious diseases caused by these pathogens. To help clinicians treat infections more effectively, a more comprehensive understanding of antibiotic resistance mechanisms is urgently needed.
Methods: Plates were streaked to isolate bacteria from the intestinal contents of fish.

The hydration of salt hydrates is often described as a solution mediated nucleation and growth mechanism, occurring between a reagent and a product in thermodynamic equilibrium with each other. If a system possesses more than one hydrate phase, the kinetic pathway may involve additional mechanisms due to the formation of intermediate hydrate species. We elected CuSO as our model system and analyzed the pathway leading from CuSO·HO (C1H) to CuSO·5HO (C5H), while CuSO·3HO (C3H) being a possible intermediate.

Purpose: This study investigates the impact of physical exercise supplemented with visual tasks on children's uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), kinetic visual acuity (KVA), and accommodative sensitivity, with an analysis of the mediating role of KVA.
Methods: A total of 168 third-grade students from four natural classes in a primary school in Suzhou City were randomly assigned to either an experimental group ( = 86) or a control group ( = 82). The experimental group engaged in 30 cycles of ciliary muscle training tasks with visual targets presented for 3 s during physical exercises, while the control group participated in regular physical exercises.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) derived kinetic parameters with high spatiotemporal resolution in discriminating malignant from normal prostate tissues.
Methods: Fifty patients with suspicious of malignant diseases in prostate were included in this study. Regions of interest (ROI) were manually delineated by experienced radiologists.
