Aim: The aim of this study was to understand the concept of active learning and its potential use in nursing academia.
Background: The demands for innovative teaching-learning strategies in higher education increased in the past decade to foster higher level of thinking. The nurse educator must prepare students entering the nursing profession, which mandates safe patient care, using a pedagogical learning process such as active learning.
Method: The Walker and Avant method guided this concept analysis.
Results: The attributes of the concept are learner-centered; dynamic, meaningful, and engaging learning environment; bidirectional collaborative interaction between educator and learner; and ongoing constructive and nonjudgmental feedback. The identified antecedents include the educator's active learning expertise and the learner's capacity for higher order thinking.
Conclusion: Nurse educators are responsible for providing effective learning environments based on a sound pedagogical approach. Active learning's desirable outcomes call for educator support as experts in implementation.

Background: Accurate radiographic interpretation is an important day one skill. A case-based radiology course (CBC) demonstrated better learning outcomes than a lecture-based course (LBC) immediately and after a one-semester period. The aim of this study was to compare long-term learning outcomes of both groups.

Neutron reflectometry (NR) is a powerful technique for interrogating the structure of thin films at interfaces. Because NR measurements are slow and instrument availability is limited, measurement efficiency is paramount. One approach to improving measurement efficiency is active learning (AL), in which the next measurement configurations are selected on the basis of information gained from the partial data collected so far.

Sudden cardiac death is a leading cause of mortality in children with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The PRecIsion Medicine in CardiomYopathy consortium developed a validated tool (PRIMaCY) for sudden cardiac death risk prediction to help with implantable cardioverter defibrillator shared decision-making, as recommended by clinical practice guidelines. The mplemeting a udden Cardiac Dath isk Assessment ool in hildhood (INSERT-HCM) study aims to implement PRIMaCY into electronic health records (EHRs) and assess implementation determinants and outcomes.

Objective: Enhancing clinical skills and quality of dental residents is critical for standardized training. Conventional standardized training falls short in exposing residents to diverse scenarios and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, essential for dental trauma management. To address these issues, West China Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University introduced an interdisciplinary problem-based learning (IPBL) model to improve residents' professional quality and practical abilities.

Background: Endothelial function (EndFx) is a core component of cardiovascular (CV) health and cardioprotection following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Hypothesis: AMI patients experience endothelial dysfunction (EndDys), associated with traditional CV risk factors and sleep patterns. EndFx may also predict short and mid-term outcomes.
