Background: Intradural extramedullary tuberculoma of the spinal cord (IETSC) is an exceedingly rare manifestation of tuberculosis (TB) affecting the central nervous system.
Case Description: A 33-year-old immunocompetent female with disseminated TB, including pulmonary involvement and leptomeningeal tuberculomas, developed progressive paraplegia and urinary incontinence over 2 months. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed diffuse intradural extramedullary soft tissue from C7 to L2 vertebral levels, indicative of abscess formation and severe spinal cord compression.

Bioinspired hydroxypyridinone (HOPO)functionalized materials are shown to display a remarkable capacity for stability and for chelating a wide array of metal ions. This allows for the synthesis of multifunctional networks with diverse physical properties when compared to traditional catechol systems. In the present study, we report a facile, one-pot synthesis of an amino HOPO ligand and simple, scalable incorporation into PEG-acrylate based networks via active ester chemistry.

Herein, we introduce a series of ionic covalent organic frameworks (iCOFs) with a focus on addressing the challenge of water collection at low relative humidity levels below 25 %. These iCOFs are characterized by numerous hydrophilic sites and high water stability, enabling efficient water vapor adsorption even at relatively low humidity levels. Through the use of various hygroscopic salt cations and precise control of ion concentration within the pores, the water state within the iCOFs pores can be effectively managed.

In this work, four-channel wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) uplink/downlink twin single-sideband (twin-SSB) signals are implemented by a wavelength selective switch (WSS) at once, which simplifies the structure of multi-channel SSB transmitters and reduces the cost of high-capacity optical interconnect. Compared to a double sideband scheme, it has been experimentally proven that the performance of SSB transmission over standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) at C-band with an ultra-high baud rate has been greatly improved, which has the ability to effectively overcome the power fading induced by chromatic dispersion in an intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) system.
