This study assesses the initial effects of the 2016 Brexit referendum on the mobility of academic scholars to and from the United Kingdom (UK). We leverage bibliometric data from millions of Scopus publications to infer changes in the countries of residence of published researchers by the changes in their institutional affiliations over time. We focus on a selected sample of active and internationally mobile researchers whose movements are traceable for every year between 2013 and 2019 and measure the changes in their migration patterns.

Purpose: Over the last two decades, the use of robotic surgery in cardiac procedures has become increasingly prevalent. Introduction: Care transitions following a stroke call for integrated care approaches to reduce death and disability. The proposed research described in this study protocol aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a person-centred multicomponent care transition support and the process in terms of contextual moderators, implementation aspects and mechanisms of impact.
Methods: A non-randomized controlled trial design will be used.

Animal models suggest that experiencing high-stress levels induces changes in amygdalar circuitry and gene expression. In humans, combat exposure has been shown to alter amygdalar responsivity and connectivity, but abnormalities have been indicated to normalize at least partially upon the termination of stress exposure. In contrast, other evidence suggests that combat exposure continues to exert influence on exposed individuals well beyond deployment and homecoming, as indicated by longitudinal psychosocial evidence from veterans, and observation of greater health decline in veterans late in life.

Background And Objectives: There have been major changes in military service over the past 50 years. Most research on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among combat Veterans comes from help-seeking Vietnam and WWII cohorts; results from more recent cohort comparisons are mixed. The present study addressed these gaps by exploring cohort differences among Vietnam, Persian Gulf, and Post-9/11 combat Veterans from a life course perspective.
