Pesticides in livestock products must be measured to ensure food safety. We developed a single-sample preparation method followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for simultaneous determination of fenpropimorph and fenpropimorph acid in six different livestock products. The extraction method was a modification of the quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) method and was validated according to the CODEX guidelines. The matrix-matched calibration curves for fenpropimorph and fenpropimorph acid exhibited good linearity, with coefficients of determination (R values) higher than 0.998. The limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 1.25 and 5.0 µg kg, respectively. The average recovery values ranged from 61.5% to 97.1% for samples fortified to the LOQ, 2 × LOQ, and 10 × LOQ. The method fully complied with the CODEX guidelines and was successfully applied to real samples obtained from domestic markets.

Unlabelled: A method was validated to determine 121 pesticide residues (carbamates, organophosphates, organochlorines, and pyrethroids) in rice samples, following the guidance document SANTE/11312/2021v2. QuEChERS method was selected for pesticide extraction, and the extract was analyzed by HPLC-MS/MS. The methodology demonstrated precision and accuracy, with recovery rates ranging from 70 % to 119 %.

Acid catalysed reductive etherification of -propargyl amino alcohols for the stereoselective synthesis of -2,5/2,6-disubstituted morpholines and -2,6/2,7-disubstituted oxazepanes has been developed. Mechanistic studies revealed that terminal alkynols gave morpholines a 6- hydroalkoxylation-isomerization-reduction cascade. Interestingly, an alkyne hydration-cyclization-reduction sequence is found to be involved in the formation of oxazepanes from alkyl substituted internal alkynols.

Sustainable beer production requires a comprehensive assessment of potential hazards such as pesticides in both the finished product and waste streams, as these streams can be used to create high-value by-products. This study presents the tracking of 13 fungicides (azoxystrobin, boscalid, epoxiconazole, fenpropidin, fenpropimorph, fluquiconazole, flutriafol, fluxapyroxad, kresoxym-methyl, spiroxamine, propiconazole, prothioconazole-desthio, and tebuconazole), two insecticides (chlorpyrifos-methyl and deltamethrin), one herbicide (glyphosate), and one growth regulator (mepiquat) through the beer brewing process. Field-treated rye, wheat, and barley samples containing pesticide residues were used as adjunct during brewing.

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response is an evolutionarily conserved mechanism in most eukaryotes. In this response, sterols in the phospholipid bilayer play a crucial role in controlling membrane fluidity and homeostasis. Despite the significance of both the ER stress response and sterols in maintaining ER homeostasis, their relationship remains poorly explored.

Istanbul Technical University, Department of Environmental Engineering, Maslak 34469, Istanbul, Turkey.

The aim of this study was to understand pesticide fate and transport from dryland agriculture in a major drinking water basin using SWAT and to identify critical source areas in the basin. Hydrological calibration results indicated satisfactory simulation of hydrologic processes within the catchment. Long term average observed sediment values (0.
