Background: Liver involvement in Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been recognised. We aimed to investigate the correlation of non-invasive surrogates of liver steatosis, fibrosis and inflammation using transient elastography (TE) and FibroScan-AST (FAST) score with (a) clinical severity and (b) 30-day composite outcome of mechanical ventilation (MV) or death among patients hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Method: Patients with non-critical COVID-19 at admission were included. Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) and controlled attenuation parameter (CAP) were assessed by TE. Clinical severity of COVID-19 was assessed by 4C Mortality Score (4CMS) and need for high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen supplementation.
Results: 217 patients were included (66.5% males, median age 65 years, 4.6% with history of chronic liver disease). Twenty-four (11.1%) patients met the 30-day composite outcome. Median LSM, CAP and FAST score were 5.2 kPa, 274 dB/m and 0.31, respectively, and neither was associated with clinical severity of COVID-19 at admission. In multivariate analysis FAST > 0.36 (OR 3.19, = 0.036), 4CMS (OR 1.68, = 0.002) and HFNC (OR 7.03, = 0.001) were independent predictors of adverse composite outcome.
Conclusion: Whereas LSM and CAP failed to show correlation with COVID-19 severity and outcomes, FAST score was an independent risk factor for 30-day mortality or need for MV.

Background: There is an urgent need for neuropsychological screening tests that are easily deployed and reliable. We have developed a digital neuropsychological screening protocol that is administered on a tablet, automatically scored using artificial intelligence, and requires approximately 10 minutes to administer. This tablet-administered protocol assesses the requisite neurocognitive constructs associated with emergent neurodegenerative illness METHOD: The digital protocol was administered to 77 ambulatory care/ memory clinic patients (Table1).

Objective: The objective was to assess whether cholesterol concentration at admission was associated with outcome and disease severity in dogs with sepsis, and to determine whether there was a significant difference in cholesterol between dogs with gram-positive gram-negative sepsis.
Animals And Procedure: Electronic medical records of dogs diagnosed with sepsis at a tertiary teaching hospital from 2012 to 2022 were evaluated. A total of 299 dogs were included.

Primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) affects 10-15% of multiple sclerosis patients and presents significant variability in the rate of disability progression. Identifying key biological features and patients at higher risk for fast progression is crucial to develop and optimize treatment strategies. Peripheral blood cell transcriptome has the potential to provide valuable information to predict patients' outcomes.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare image quality features and lesion characteristics between a faster deep learning (DL) reconstructed T2-weighted (T2-w) fast spin-echo (FSE) Dixon sequence with super-resolution (T2) and a conventional T2-w FSE Dixon sequence (T2) for breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Materials And Methods: This prospective study was conducted between November 2022 and April 2023 using a 3T scanner. Both T2 and T2 sequences were acquired for each patient.

Background: The purposes of this study were to examine the reliability and factorial and convergent validity of a virtual performance measure (VPM) in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip joint and to compare the known-group validity of the VPM with traditional self-report and performance-based outcomes.
Methods: The VPM score was based on the results of 10 videos showing increasing difficulty in performing specific functional tasks. Patients were requested to choose the video that best reflected their own level of function.
