Accurately analyzing the type of land use and change characteristics of disaster damage in landslide areas is of great significance to scientifically promote the optimization of regional land use pattern and disaster prevention and mitigation. We analyzed the characteristic parameters of landslides as well as the characteristics and driving factors of land use change from 1985 to 2020 in Tongwei County, Gansu Province, using ALOS DEM data and 1985-2020 land use data, GIS spatial analysis, land-use dynamic attitude, transfer matrix, and Geodetector. The results showed that a total of 1012 landslide samples were identified, characterized by medium elevation, gentle gradient, low elevation difference, short length, and small size.

Aims: Epidemiological studies have consistently established a positive association between periodontal disease (PD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, large-scale investigations exploring the impact of changes in PD status on CVD risk are scarce. This study aimed to investigate the association between the dynamics in PD and the risk of incident CVD in a nationally representative population.

Genetic improvement of low-lignin poplars: a new strategy based on molecular recognition, chemical reactions and empirical breeding.

Laboratory of Tumor Targeted and Immune Therapy, Clinical Research Center for Breast, State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University and Collaborative Innovation Center for Biotherapy, Chengdu, China.

As an important source of pollution in the papermaking process, the presence of lignin in poplar can seriously affect the quality and process of pulping. During lignin synthesis, Caffeoyl-CoA-O methyltransferase (CCoAOMT), as a specialized catalytic transferase, can effectively regulate the methylation of caffeoyl-coenzyme A (CCoA) to feruloyl-coenzyme A. Targeting CCoAOMT, this study investigated the substrate recognition mechanism and the possible reaction mechanism, the key residues of lignin binding were mutated and the lignin content was validated by deep convolutional neural-network model based on genome-wide prediction (DCNGP).

Gestational diabetes-combined excess weight gain exacerbates gut microbiota dysbiosis in newborns, associated with reduced abundance of , , and .

Front Cell Infect Microbiol

December 2024

Department of Obstetrics, Women and Children's Hospital, School of Medicine, Xiamen University, Xiamen, China.

Background: Existing literature indicates that Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and maternal obesity disrupt the normal colonization of the neonatal gut microbiota alone. Still, the combined impact of GDM and excessive gestational weight gain (EGWG) on this process remains under explored. The association between gestational weight gain before/after GDM diagnosis and neonatal gut microbiota characteristics is also unclear.

This study aims to assess the neuroprotective effects of the methanolic extract of against oxidative stress and cell death induced by neurotoxins MPP  in SH-SY5Y cells. Briefly, the methanolic extract of decreased the cytotoxicity of MPP  in SH-SY5Y cells. Treatment with extract at a concentration of 400 µg/ml resulted in a notable decrease in cell death, particularly in MPP  -induced cells.
