Direct conversion of sulfinamides to thiosulfonates is described. Without the use of additional redox agents, the reaction proceeds smoothly in the presence of TFA under metal-free conditions. This protocol possesses many advantages such as odourless and stable starting materials, broad substrate scope, selective synthesis, and mild reaction conditions.

Recent advances in interfacial solar steam generation have made direct solar desalination a promising approach for providing cost-effective and environmentally friendly clean water solutions. However, developing highly effective, salt-resistant solar absorbers for long-term desalination at high efficiencies and evaporation rates remains a significant challenge. We present a Janus hydrogel-based absorber featuring a surface modified with thermo-responsive hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) and a hydrogel matrix containing photothermal conversion units, MXene, specifically designed for long-term seawater desalination.

As such, it outlines the significance of renewable energy sources and the potential of photovoltaic technologies, particularly organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Objectives include factors affecting power conversion efficiency (PCE), open-circuit voltage (Voc), aggregation tendencies, and optoelectronic properties in OPVs.

However, controlling EC-MOFs' morphology is underexplored due to the uncontrollable crystal nucleation and rapid growth kinetics. This work introduces a microwave-assisted strategy to readily synthesize Cu-HHTP (HHTP = 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexahydroxytriphenylene) with controlled morphologies.

We fate-mapped the embryonic chick forebrain using lipophilic dyes and Cre-recombination lineage tracing, and built a 4D model of brain growth. We reveal modular patterns of anisotropic growth, ascribed to progenitor regions through multiplex HCR.
