A systemic investigation of the terahertz (THz) transmission of LaCaMnO film on the (001)-oriented NdGaO substrate under external magnetic field and low temperature have been performed. The significant THz absorption difference between the out-of-plane and the in-plane magnetic field direction is observed, which is consistent with the electrical transport measurement using the standard four-probe technique. Furthermore, we find that the complex THz conductivities can be reproduced in terms of the Drude Smith equation as the magnetic field is perpendicular to the film plane, whereas it deviates from this model when the in-plane magnetic field is applied. We suggest that such anisotropies in THz transport dynamics have close correspondences with the phase separation and anisotropic magnetoresistance effects in the perovskite-structured manganites. Our work demonstrates that the THz time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) can be an effective non-contact method for studying the magneto-transport properties of the perovskite-structured manganites.

Background: Three-dimensional MR fingerprinting (3D-MRF) has been increasingly used to assess cartilage degeneration, particularly in the knee joint, by looking into multiple relaxation parameters. A comparable 3D-MRF approach can be adapted to assess cartilage degeneration for the hip joint, with changes to accommodate specific challenges of hip joint imaging.
Purpose: To demonstrate the feasibility and repeatability of 3D-MRF in the bilateral hip jointly we map proton density (PD), T, T, T, and ∆B in clinically feasible scan times.

We investigate the emergence of self-hybridized thermal magnetoplasmons in doped graphene nanodisks at finite temperatures upon being subjected to an external magnetic field. Using a semianalytical approach, which fully describes the eigenmodes and polarizability of the graphene nanodisks, we show that the hybridization originates from the coupling of transitions between thermally populated Landau levels and localized magnetoplasmon resonances of the nanodisks. Owing to their origin, these modes combine the extraordinary magneto-optical response of graphene with the strong field enhancement of plasmons, making them an ideal tool for achieving strong chiral light-matter interactions, with the additional advantage of being tunable through carrier concentration, magnetic field, and temperature.
