Silica particles were obtained from rice husk to which layered double hydroxide particles were deposited (weight ratio 1 : 1). Fe-Al layered double hydroxides (FeAl-LDH) were synthesized by co-precipitation with ratios Fe : Al of 3 : 1 in the presence of SiO particles from the rice husk. Characterization of the synthesized FeAl-LDH@SiO particles was performed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy with EDS. Prepared FeAl-LDH@SiO particles were used as reinforcing agents in 1, 3 and 5 wt% quantity in poly (methyl) methacrylate matrix. The aim of this study was to examine whether FeAl-LDH@SiO particles affect the mechanical properties of polymer composite materials. The morphology of the composites was examined using a field emission scanning electron microscope. Microindentation, tensile and impact testing determined the mechanical properties of the obtained composites.

Self-diffusion coefficients, *, are routinely estimated from molecular dynamics simulations by fitting a linear model to the observed mean squared displacements (MSDs) of mobile species. MSDs derived from simulations exhibit statistical noise that causes uncertainty in the resulting estimate of *. An optimal scheme for estimating * minimizes this uncertainty, i.

This study details the synthesis of a novel ternary nanocomposite composed of MnFeO, FeVO, and modified zeolite, achieved through a two-step process. The initial step involved the hydrothermal synthesis of the MnFeO/FeVO composite, followed by its application onto modified zeolite using ultrasonic waves. The synthesized nanocomposite was thoroughly characterized using a range of analytical techniques.

This study aimed to prepare a composite film by blending cross-linked tapioca starch (CLTS) with sodium alginate (SA), silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and ZnO nanoparticles (ZnOs). The effects of SA, AgNPs, and ZnOs at different concentrations (1-3 wt%) on the mechanical properties, optical properties, thermal stability, and antibacterial activity of cross-linked starch films were also investigated. The structures of the films were examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction.

The respiratory tract is susceptible to various infections and can be affected by many serious diseases. Vaccination is one of the most promising ways that prevent infectious diseases and treatment of some diseases such as malignancy. Direct delivery of vaccines to the respiratory tract could mimic the natural process of infection and shorten the delivery path, therefore unique mucosal immunity at the first line might be induced and the efficiency of delivery can be high.

Specific tumor-targeted gene delivery remains an unsolved therapeutic issue due to aberrant vascularization in tumor microenvironment (TME). Some bacteria exhibit spontaneous chemotaxis toward the anaerobic and immune-suppressive TME, which makes them ideal natural vehicles for cancer gene therapy. Here, we conjugated ZIF-8 metal-organic frameworks encapsulating eukaryotic murine interleukin 2 () expression plasmid onto the surface of VNP20009, an attenuated strain with well-documented anti-cancer activity, and constructed a TME-targeted delivery system named /ZIF-8@.
