Herein, we report the synthesis and properties of a [6,6] hollow bilayer cylindrical nanoring () from a planar macrocycle via a Diels-Alder and Yamamoto coupling reaction. The fluorescence quantum yield of was determined to be = 52%, which is four times higher than its precursor. In addition, its hollow nanoring configuration was also simulated by theoretical studies, and the tension energy was estimated to be 47.1 kcal/mol.

Photocatalytically reducing CO into high-value-added chemical materials has surfaced as a viable strategy for harnessing solar energy and mitigating the greenhouse effect. But the inadequate separation of the photogenerated electron-hole pair remains a major obstacle to CO photoreduction. Constructing heterostructure photocatalysts with efficient interface charge transfer is a promising approach to solving the above problems.

In this study, kapok fiber (KF) a hollow and hydrophobic fiber, was modified with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) or cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC), rendering adsorbed amount of ∼0.75 × 10 mol/g. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements of dry KF/CTAB and KF/CPC evidenced a periodic distance of ∼2.

Permeance-selectivity trade-off and high temperature resilience are key challenges in development of membranes for post-combustion carbon capture. While mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) consisting of polymers and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) offer the potential to address the challenges, they are limited by the low loading of MOFs in the thin film layer. Herein, we propose an inverse synthesis strategy to form polymer-MOF networks by copolymerizing monomers with functionalized UiO-66 nanoparticles.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) exhibit intriguing physicochemical properties due to their manageable structure, abundant porosity, and uniform pore size, which provide ideal environments for photocatalysts to achieve highly efficient photocatalysis. In this work, -Ir(ppy) is directly anchored to MOFs of MIL-101 with different morphologies Friedel-Crafts alkylation, affording various MIL-101-supported -Ir(ppy) without the molecular modification of -Ir(ppy). The as-fabricated photocatalysts possess high specific surface areas (785-962 m g), pore volumes (0.
