In parallel with advances in the synthesis of solid-state ionic conductors, there is a need to understand the underlying mechanisms behind their improved ionic conductivities. This can be achieved by obtaining an atomic level picture of the interplay between the structure of materials and the resultant ionic diffusion processes. To this end, the structure and dynamics of Mg-stabilized rotor phase material γ-NaPO, characterized by neutron scattering, are detailed in this work. The Mg-stabilized rotor phase is found to be thermally stable from 4 to 650 K. However, signatures of orientational disorder of the phosphate anions are also evident in the average structure. Long-range Na self-diffusion was probed by quasi-elastic neutron scattering and subsequently modeled via a jump diffusion matrix with consideration of the phosphate anion rotations. The resultant diffusion model points directly to coupled anion-cation dynamics. Our approach highlights the importance of considering the whole system when developing an atomic level picture of structure and dynamics, which is critical in the rational design and optimization of energy materials.

Developing superionic conductor (SIC) materials offers a promising pathway to achieving high ionic conductivity in solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). The LiGePS (LGPS) family has received significant attention due to its remarkable ionic conductivity among various SIC materials. molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations have been extensively used to explore the diffusion behavior of Li ions in LiGePS.

Previous data suggests almost one third of myeloma patients acquire mutations in the key IMiD effector cereblon by the time they are pomalidomide refractory. Some events, including stop codons/frameshift mutations and copy loss, having clearly explicable effects on cereblon function.

Relaxation-induced dipolar modulation enhancement (RIDME) is a pulse EPR experiment originally designed to determine distances between spin labels. However, RIDME has several features that make it an efficient tool in a number of "nonconventional" applications, away from the original purpose of this pulse experiment. RIDME appears to be an interesting experiment to probe longitudinal electron spin dynamics, e.

Intrinsically disordered proteins and protein regions are central to many biological processes but difficult to characterize at atomic resolution. Nuclear magnetic resonance is particularly well-suited for providing structural and dynamical information on intrinsically disordered proteins, but existing NMR methodologies need to be constantly refined to provide greater sensitivity and resolution, particularly to capitalise on the potential of high magnetic fields to investigate large proteins. In this paper, we describe how N-detected 2D NMR experiments can be optimised for better performance.

Ginsenoside Rh2(S) is well-known for its therapeutic potential against diverse conditions, including some cancers, inflammation, and diabetes. The enzymatic activity of uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferase 51 (UGT51) from Saccharomyces cerevisiae plays a pivotal role in the glycosylation process between UDP-glucose (donor) and protopanaxadiol (acceptor), to form ginsenoside Rh2. However, the catalytic efficiency of the UGT51 has remained a challenging task.
