Introduction: Congenital transformation zone (CTZ) of the uterine cervix is a non-neoplastic, rare condition resembling high-grade lesions on colposcopic examination which leads to diagnostic dilemmas.Case DescriptionA multiparous woman was screened for cervical cancer. Visual inspection using acetic acid was positive for which further evaluation with colposcopy was done. An aceto-white lesion resembling high-grade precancerous condition was seen. Punch biopsy was taken from multiple areas and the histopathology report demonstrated chronic cervicitis with increased maturation of the superficial layers of squamous epithelium. The lesion persisted on the follow-up colposcopy even after a course of antibiotics.

Discussion: CTZ could be difficult to differentiate from cervical premalignant lesions. The main aim of this article is to help other colposcopists to understand this physiological variant.

Conclusion: The CTZ is a physiological entity and differential diagnosis for cervical premalignant lesions on colposcopy.

Objectives: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an essential role in cancer biology. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 3 (CIN3) is the most severe precancerous lesion of cervical cancer. However, the mechanism of multiple lncRNAs in CIN3 has not been studied in-depth and is worth exploring.

Introduction: Cervical dysplasia is a precursor lesion of cervical cancer, one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in women, especially in developing countries. This study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with the development of cervical dysplasia in women treated at the Santa María del Socorro Hospital in Ica, Peru, between 2017 and 2019.

Methods: An observational case-control study was conducted with 92 cases of women with confirmed high-grade intraepithelial lesion and 184 controls with consecutive negative results in Pap smears.

Introduction: The follow-up adherence after treatment for a positive screening test is critical for preventing the development of screen-detected abnormalities in cervical cancer. Yet, this poses a major challenge in developing countries like Ethiopia, emphasising the urgency for intervention strategies. Our trial aims to assess which strategies would be effective in improving adherence to follow-up after suspicious cervical lesion treatment in Ethiopia.

The presence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) contributes to the development of cervical lesions and cervical cancer. Recent studies suggest that an imbalance in the cervicovaginal microbiota might be a factor in the persistence of HR-HPV infections. In this study, we collected 156 cervicovaginal fluid (CVF) of women with HR-HPV infection, which were divided into three groups (negative for intraepithelial lesions = 78, low/high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions = 52/26).

Cervical cancer remains a major global health concern, with a specially alarming incidence in younger women. Traditional detection techniques such as the Pap smear and colposcopy often lack sensitivity and specificity and are highly dependent on the experience of the gynaecologist. In response, this study proposes the use of Hyperspectral Imaging, a pioneering technology that combines traditional imaging with spectroscopy to provide detailed spatial and spectral information.
