What Is Already Known About This Topic?: After menopause, women are prone to chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and osteoporosis and gynecological diseases such as pelvic floor dysfunction and reproductive tract infection.
What Is Added By This Report?: The prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis increased with age, while the prevalence of vaginitis and cervicitis decreased with the increase of age. The proportions of women aged 50-70 years old suffering from chronic and gynecological diseases in western and rural areas were significantly higher than those in eastern, central and urban areas.
What Are The Implications For Public Health Practice?: It is necessary to take targeted intervention measures in the western region and rural areas, in order to narrow the gap in health of menopausal and older women between different areas of China.

Background: As multiple Japanese academic societies have recently issued treatment guidelines for perinatal antidepressant treatments, it is considered worthwhile to evaluate the latest trends and continuation of antidepressant medication during pregnancy to optimize antenatal prescriptions.
Methods: The prevalence, trend, and continuation of antidepressant use during pregnancy in Japan from 2012 to 2023 were evaluated, using a large administrative claims database, in women whose pregnancies ended in live births. Annual changes were evaluated using a multivariate logistic regression model adjusted for maternal age at delivery.

: In heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), the early diagnosis and proper treatment of comorbidities (CMs) are of fundamental relevance. Our aim was to assess the prevalence of CMs among real-world patients requiring hospitalisation for HFrEF and to investigate the effect of CMs on the implementation of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) and on all-cause mortality (ACM). : The data of a consecutive HFrEF patient cohort hospitalised for HF between 2021 and 2024 were analysed retrospectively.

Background Dacryocystitis (DC) is a disease most often caused by an obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct, leading to over-accumulation of tears in the lacrimal sac, epiphora, and aseptic inflammation. External and endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) aims to restore the tear pathway by creating a bypass from the lacrimal sac to the nose. The aim of this study is to investigate superior nasal septal deviation as a possible contributing factor in the incidence and treatment of dacryocystitis.

Wetlands in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are a unique and fragile ecosystem undergoing rapid changes. We show two unique patterns of mercury (Hg) accumulation in wetland sediments. One is the 'surface peak' in monsoon-controlled regions and the other is the 'subsurface peak' in westerly-controlled regions.
