The ability of the lymphatic network to absorb large molecules and bypass the first-pass liver metabolism makes it appealing as a delivery system for therapeutic substances. In most cases, the drug is injected into the subcutaneous tissue and must negotiate the tissue space, before being drained via the lymphatics. Tracking the transport of drug molecules through this route is challenging, and computational models of lymphatic drainage can play an important role in assessing the efficacy of a proposed delivery strategy. The three-dimensional computational model we present here of the peripheral lymphatic network and surrounding interstitium is informed by anatomical data, and quantifies the degree to which uptake and transit times are affected by drug particle size, physiological flow rates, and specifics of drug injection.

Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is a lymphatic cancer of steadily growing incidence. Its diagnostic and follow-up rely on the analysis of clinical biomarkers and 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-PET/CT images. In this context, we target the problem of assisting in the early identification of high-risk DLBCL patients from both images and tabular clinical data.

Purpose Of Review: The role of the lymphatic system in clearing extravasated fluids, lipid transport, and immune surveillance is well established, and lymphatic vasculature can provide a vital role in facilitating crosstalk among various organ systems. Lymphatic vessels rely on intrinsic and local factors to absorb and propel lymph from the interstitium back to the systemic circulation. The biological implications of local influences on lymphatic vessels are underscored by the exquisite sensitivity of these vessels to environmental stimuli.

This paper introduces a novel method for spleen segmentation in ultrasound images, using a two-phase training approach. In the first phase, the SegFormerB0 network is trained to provide an initial segmentation. In the second phase, the network is further refined using the Pix2Pix structure, which enhances attention to details and corrects any erroneous or additional segments in the output.

To prevent the overaggressive treatment of axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) in breast cancer, it is necessary to develop a convenient analysis method that accurately and comprehensively reflects whether ALNs are metastatic or nonmetastatic. We retrospectively analyzed data from patients who underwent surgery for breast cancer at the Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January 2019 and June 2023. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to predict the metastasis status of ALNs.
