An effective antitumor drug like cisplatin has toxic effects leading to kidney injury. The authors investigated the nephroprotective action of leaf buds (CSB) and its flowers (CSF), both individually and in combined therapy against cisplatin-induced renal injury. Renal functional tests, oxidant, anti-oxidant and histopathology of kidney tissues are assessed. The major findings of the experiment is that the CSB and/or CSF ameliorate the successive conditions of (1) Renal dysfunction (Serum creatinine, urea, uric acid and glucose, protein level present in the urine) (2) The degree of lipid peroxidation (3) Antioxidant enzyme suppression and (4) The destructive renal architecture associated with drug-induced renal toxicity. Result suggests that the combined therapy of CSB and CSF was highly effective when compared to monotherapy in the complete regeneration of destructive cells by drug effect and could be an addition of a new source to the pharmaceutical industry as antioxidant nutrition supplement.

Production of secreted leaf bud resin is a mechanism for temperate trees to protect dormant leaf buds against frost damage, dehydration, and insect herbivory. Bud resins contain a wide variety of special metabolites including terpenoids, benzenoids, and phenolics. The leaf bud resins of Populus trichocarpa and P.

Introduction: Accurate detection and recognition of tea bud images can drive advances in intelligent harvesting machinery for tea gardens and technology for tea bud pests and diseases. In order to realize the recognition and grading of tea buds in a complex multi-density tea garden environment.
Methods: This paper proposes an improved YOLOv7 object detection algorithm, called YOLOv7-DWS, which focuses on improving the accuracy of tea recognition.

This study investigates the synergistic effects of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and melatonin (MT) on Fragaria × ananassa (strawberry) plants under drought stress, focusing on growth, fruit biomass, and stress tolerance. ZnO NPs enhance nutrient uptake and stress resistance, while MT regulates growth hormones and boosts photosynthetic efficiency. Seven treatments were evaluated: T1 (no stress, 0.

Climate change, drought, and soil salinization present huge limitations to global agricultural output, which threatens food security. This necessitates the cultivation and domestication of wild edible halophytes as alternatives to mainstream food crops, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. is one of the under-researched and underutilized edible halophytes native to South Africa.

Background: Pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) nuts are among the most popular nuts. The pistachio cultivars are tolerant to both drought and salinity, which is why they are extensively grown in the arid, saline, and hot regions of the Middle East, Mediterranean countries, and the United States.
