Macrophage-mediated inflammation plays a pivotal role in cardiovascular disease pathogenesis. However, current cell-based models lack a comprehensive understanding of crosstalk between macrophages and cardiomyocytes, hindering the discovery of effective therapeutic interventions. Here, a microfluidic model has been developed to facilitate the coculture of macrophages and cardiomyocytes, allowing for mapping key signaling pathways and screening potential therapeutic agents against inflammation-induced dynamic myocardial injury.

Exercising regularly promotes health, but these benefits are complicated by acute inflammation induced by exercise. A potential source of inflammation is cell-free DNA (cfDNA), yet the cellular origins, molecular causes, and immune system interactions of exercise-induced cfDNA are unclear. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of M3-DPPE liposomal nanoparticles encapsulated with mRNA encoding cytokines (M3-mRNAs) in targeting macrophages for the treatment of inflammation-induced joint injury.
Methods: , M3-mRNAs were administered to peritoneal exudate macrophages (PEMs), and the uptake was assessed using flow cytometry. The mechanism of uptake was investigated by blocking the CLEC12A pathway with M3-SiCLEC12A and observing CD206-mediated endocytosis.

Foodborne bacterial enteritis is a common clinical disease, and its incidence has risen globally. To screen for functional Bacillus strains with anti-inflammatory properties, tolerance to acid and bile salts, and antagonism against Salmonella, 22 strains of Bacillus were employed as candidate strains in this study. An inflammatory cell model was established using J774-Dual NF-κB/IRF reporter macrophages to identify anti-inflammatory Bacillus.
