Occult fractures are challenging to diagnose, especially those involving an implant surrounding the suspected fracture site. This is the first case wherein F-sodium fluoride positron emission tomography substantially helped to diagnose peri-prosthetic and peri-implant fractures. The application of this imaging modality warrants further study.
