The coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is primarily caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and has been a challenge to the clinician. Epidemiological studies unveiled the involvement of the cardiovascular system during the course of SARS-CoV-2 infection. The cardiac complications in patients with COVID-19 include myocarditis, heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and cardiac arrhythmia. The pathophysiological states of the disease and multiple concurrent medications (unfamiliar to the clinicians) lead to a significant threat to arrhythmia. This review article hopes to elucidate the mechanisms of arrhythmias in COVID-19.

Background: Left ventricular (LV) myocardial contraction patterns can be assessed using LV mechanical dispersion (LVMD), a parameter closely associated with electrical activation patterns. Despite its potential clinical significance, limited research has been conducted on LVMD following myocardial infarction (MI). This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)-derived LVMD for adverse clinical outcomes and to explore its correlation with myocardial scar heterogeneity.

Background: Same-day discharge (SDD) has been adopted for interventional cardiology procedures, however, data on patient experience are scarce.
Aims: To investigate patient-reported experience after various SDD electrophysiology procedures.
Methods: Consecutive patients undergoing electrophysiology procedures, who fulfilled pre-defined eligibility criteria for SDD, completed the questionnaire before discharge.

AF is a common arrhythmia in cardiomyopathy, particularly when congestive heart failure is present. The neurohormonal activation in congestive heart failure may trigger fibrotic and other changes in the left atrium and the atrial stretch associated with heart failure may induce further atrial pathology and/ or directly trigger AF (8). By the time that patients with AF develop extensive fibrosis, the arrhythmia has been shown to be associated with a greater difficulty in maintaining sinus rhythm despite attempted ablation procedures.

Introduction/objective: Emotional, mental, or psychological distress, defined as increased symptoms of depression, anxiety, and/or stress, is common in patients with chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular (CV) disease (CVD).
Methods: Literature was reviewed regarding data from studies and meta-analyses examining the impact of emotional stress on the occurrence and outcome of several CVDs (coronary disease, heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, stroke). These influences' pathophysiology and clinical spectrum are detailed, tabulated, and pictorially illustrated.
