Although sialoblastoma (SBL) is defined as a low-grade malignant salivary gland anlage neoplasm in the 2022 World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Head and Neck Tumors, its histology, genetics, and behavior remain controversial due to the rarity of the tumor. Here, we performed the first comprehensive clinical, histologic, and molecular analyses of 8 SBLs to better understand their pathogenesis and prognosis. This cohort consisted of 5 boys and 3 girls, with ages ranging from birth to 9 years at diagnosis.

E-cadherin (E-cad) immunohistochemistry is commonly used to distinguish lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) from ductal carcinoma in situ in histologically uncertain or ambiguous cases. Although most LCIS cases show an absence of E-cad expression on the neoplastic cell membranes, some show aberrant E-cad expression which can lead to diagnostic confusion. Awareness and understanding of the frequency, patterns, and distribution of aberrant E-cad staining in LCIS is crucial to achieving a correct diagnosis.

The mechanism of tumor budding (TB) in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) and its relationship with biological indicators and prognostic significance, remains unclear. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive analysis using whole-slide imaging to evaluate TB in 75 cases of GAC. Our findings revealed the risk factors associated with TB in GAC and their impact on patient prognosis.

This study examines the effects of pulsed wave photobiomodulation (pwPBM) on the osteogenic differentiation of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP). Using 810 nm near-infrared (NIR) light with 300 Hz pulses and a 30% duty cycle, pwPBM was applied at a total energy density of 750 mJ/cm. Osteogenesis was evaluated through both in vitro and in vivo analyses.

The histologic differential diagnosis between intracranial hemangioblastoma (HB) and metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma may be challenging, especially considering that both tumors exhibit clear cell morphology and can be associated with vHL mutation and/or Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. As the execution of immunohistochemical analyses is often mandatory, the expression of PAX8 has been traditionally considered a reliable marker of metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma, being consistently negative in intracranial HB. However, as in recent years, some cases of PAX8-positive HBs have been reported in the literature; we studied the expression of this antibody on a series of 23 intracranial HB, showing that about 40% of these tumors may express PAX8 and that this immunoreactivity is often focal and weak.
