The repetition of urea-based binding units within the receptor structure does not only lead to monomer properties multiplication. As confirmed by spectroscopic studies, UV-Vis and H-NMR in classical or competitive titration mode, the attachment to a carrier allocates the active moieties to mutual positions predetermining the function of the whole receptor molecule. Bivalent receptors form self-aggregates. Dendritic receptors with low dihydrogen phosphate loadings offer a cooperative complexation mode associated with a positive dendritic effect. In higher dihydrogen phosphate concentrations, the dendritic branches act independently and the binding mode changes to 1:1 anion: complexation site. Despite the anchoring, the dendritic receptors retain the superior efficiency and selectivity of a monomer, paving the way to recyclable receptors, desirable for economic and ecological reasons.
Myeloid cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, dendritic cells, and myeloid-derived suppressor cells, play crucial roles in the innate immune system, contributing to immune defense, tissue homeostasis, and organ development. They have tremendous potential as therapeutic tools for diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders, but harnessing cell engineering strategies to enhance potency and expand applications is challenging. Recent advancements in stem cell research have made it possible to differentiate human embryonic stem cells and induce pluripotent stem cells into various cell types, including myeloid cells, offering a promising new approach to generate myeloid cells for cell therapy.
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) shows limited response to immune checkpoint inhibitors due to its complex tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). This study explores the functions of various immune cells in the complex TIME in GC.
Methods: We assessed CD8 + T-cell infiltration of GC tissues by immunohistochemistry, and performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of tumor and normal tissues from 34 patients with GC.
The use of peptides for cancer immunotherapy is a promising and emerging approach that is being intensively explored worldwide. One such peptide, GK-1, has been shown to delay the growth of triple-negative breast tumors in mice, reduce their metastatic capacity, and reverse the intratumor immunosuppression that characterizes this model. Herein, it is demonstrated that GK-1 is taken up by bone marrow dendritic cells in a dose-dependent manner 15 min after exposure, more efficiently at 37 °C than at 4 °C, implying an entrance into the cells by energy-independent and -dependent processes through clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
Unlabelled: The rich diversity of synapses facilitates the capacity of neural circuits to transmit, process and store information. Here, we used multiplex super-resolution proteometric imaging through array tomography to define features of single synapses in the adult mouse neocortex. We find that glutamatergic synapses cluster into subclasses that parallel the distinct biochemical and functional categories of receptor subunits: GluA1/4, GluA2/3 and GluN1/GluN2B.

However, the role of PGK1 in sepsis remains largely unexplored.
